Our Passport Application Experience at the DFA Courtesy Lane for Government Employees

UPDATE: Just learned from a reliable source that only parents, spouses and children of the government employee are entitled to use the Courtesy Lane. Siblings (brothers and sisters) are excluded and have to make an appointment just like what ordinary applicants do.

Last November, I was able to book plane tickets to an Asian city for the boyfriend fiancee and I. Our travel will be in October 2011, just in time for our seventh anniversary as a couple. Yes, our relationship is that old. Haha. But I digress.

For over a week, I got overly excited about our out-of-the-country trip next year and thought I should prepare all our travel requirements in advance. One of them was the passport. I realized I haven’t applied for one yet and panicked a bit. I immediately checked out the DFA website and booked for an appointment for the two of us. The date I chose was December 22 at 9:00 a.m. I arranged the necessary documents required for our passport application and waited for our schedule to arrive.

Best Hair Cut for My Face Shape

I’ve been contemplating on getting a new haircut lately. My hair at present is fugly to the nth level. It’s dry and completely out of shape. The effects of the rebonding treatment I had many months ago are gone. I’m also too lazy to give my hair its much needed TLC. I know I need to find a decent hair style that suits my face shape soon.

Speaking of face shape, I just realized I didn’t know what exactly my face shape is. I used to think it was round. At one point in time I thought it was oblong. I have been confused about this thing which makes thinking about the perfect hair style for my face shape quite difficult. Until this afternoon when I had chanced upon this article and found out I’ve got an oval face. Yes, oval. And not round nor oblong.

Simbang Gabi 2010

I started my day right today. I went with my mom, my sister and the boyfriend to church to attend the traditional simbang gabi (dawn mass). (Simbang Gabi in the Philippines starts on December 16 until December 24.) We each had a wish in mind and we hoped it would come true if and only if we get to complete the 9-day simbang gabi. Most Pinoys who attend simbang gabi have that agenda in mind. Haha. Seriously, I think it’s no big deal for we can always ask for something from God at any day and any time. But it’s been a sort of motivation for us to attend this religious activity so might as well let it be.

Big Blister on My Left Foot

It happened so fast. I just wore my new shoes to the office one random weekday. It’s a black, open-toed pair in three-inch heels. I don’t know how to describe it correctly but it has a shoe lace. I hope you get the idea. Okay, on with my story. When I had gotten home after wearing the shoes in the office for eight long hours, I saw this big blister on my left foot. It started to form a bubble filled with water and eventually, mixed with some puss. Days later the bubble burst open. Ewwww.

Looking Forward to December 9

December 9 (tomorrow) is judgment day, for me at least. I dunno what will happen on this day but I’m hoping the results will be for my greater benefit. I know I have asked God for many things already and He gave them all to me. But this is one thing that I really, really want to have. And it’s not just for myself, but for my loved ones as well. We will all benefit from this.

Life Sans Internet

It’s been two days of no internet in the office. No, we didn’t encounter any technical problem. It’s just that, we had our tables and cabinets revarnished and we had to unplug our internet hub lest we clutter our workplace. We’re still waiting for the maintenance boys to return our newly-varnished tables and we’ll be back to normal (internet-wise).

While waiting for the internet to spring back to life again, I was able to write some posts for my blogs. I was also able to arrange my computer files neatly in folders. Haha. That should give you a clue on how bored I was during the past two days. I felt like I was restless and unable to function properly.
