I Don’t Own a Car…

…I just ride in one. As front seat passenger. On a regular basis. And the car belongs to the fiance. He bought it last February and since then, our trips in and out of the city have significantly improved. You can say we’re enjoying having a car at our disposal. Now we can go wherever we want, at any time of the day. Owning a car, according to the fiance, has not only made our life easier but allowed us to appreciate life better. I can’t agree more.

But owning a car can have its downsides, too. Your number one enemy would be fuel prices. Here in Manila, oil price hike is a common thing. Traffic is next. We all know how bad traffic in this country can be. Third would be paying for your car. The down payment alone costs an arm and a leg. The succeeding payment, in the form of monthly amortizations, can be burdensome at times. Unless, of course, you signed up for a car loans title to make things a lot easier for you.

Tax Refund

My brother is the luckiest! He’ll be receiving a tax refund worth P____ very soon for the taxes he paid last year. I remember just last week he was borrowing money from me. He needed some bucks to buy new clothes for his forthcoming oath taking as licensed teacher. I didn’t have spare money then so I wasn’t able to help him. With the tax refund money he’s getting, he’s problem is solved.

Speaking of taxes, I just realized I have yet to pay property taxes for our Naic home. Gosh, my forgetfulness is getting worse each day. I better schedule a day off this month to pay our tax dues. But before that, I have to look for some documents first. I haven’t done any cleaning recently; I wonder where I have kept those files I collected after purchasing our house. If I had document management solutions at my disposal, this won’t be a problem. But I don’t have any, so yeah, I have to do the search manually. Poor me.

Our New Adidas Running Shoes

The fiancee has long been bugging me to run, and recently I have given in to his plea. But only after I had him promised me that he’d run and not just jog or brisk walk like what he was used to doing before. After receiving our mid-year bonus last month, we got ourselves new Adidas running shoes. Each pair costed us a little less than P3,000. We both got black running shoes because we thought the color was low-maintenance and wouldn’t get dirty easily as compared to white.
