Anilao Getaway

Last May 26th and 27th were epic. Two days of pure fun and relaxation. We had our office outing/team building at Vista Aplaya Resort, a pretty little beach resort in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. Trivia (at least for me): Anilao is one of the barangays in the municipality of Mabini. It was just an overnight stay but we made the most of it by enjoying the beach. We ate delicious, home-cooked food and snorkeled to our hearts’ content (while our rich boss was diving in the deep).

We were lucky to have the place all to ourselves because we arrived there on a Monday and left the next day (both weekdays). I loved everything about it, from the accommodation and the Instagram-worthy infinity pool and gardens to the buffet meals served to us and the great service. We would have extended our stay except our budget was limited. Haha.

Sanuk Sandals: His and Hers

Last Saturday, the hubby and I had an impromptu road trip to Sta. Rosa City in Laguna. I had three locations in mind which we visited one after the other: Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Nuvali and Solenad (1 and 2). At Solenad 2, the hubby chanced upon a Sanuk sale which he wasn’t able to resist.

So, we now both have a pair of Sanuk footwear (first-timers here). His is a pair of Fraid Not sandals in gray (discounted at P995) while mine is a pair of Yoga Mat Wedge sandals in beige (discounted at P1,000). They were sold at 50% off and the hubby couldn’t be happier about it. I am still on shopping fast but he was generous enough to get me a pair. He said I’ll look kawawa (poor thing) if he has a pair and I don’t have my own. Awwwww, thanks again my love!

Driving Skills

I’m a new driver and I know I still have tons of things to learn when it comes to driving properly and safely. I’m just so happy to report that I just claimed my driver’s license ID this morning at LTO-Tayuman District Office. I applied for it last May 2nd and after 26 days, my ID’s here! Good job, LTO-Tayuman!

this is it!

My driving journey has just begun. And I’m so excited about it. So far, I’ve driven in Bacoor and in Manila. I still have many places in my to-drive-in list. Hopefully, I can cross out all of them soon. I also hope the hubby will be as cooperative as possible. Haha.

A Cultural Soirée

I’ve never attended a soirée before. Last night was the first time and it was a pleasant experience for me. Just to be clear, I didn’t go there as a guest. It was purely work for me and for my officemates. But we did get seated in one of tables (this rarely happens) and we took advantage of that opportunity to enjoy the rest of the night.

The cultural soirée was for the participants of the World Economic Forum for East Asia which the Philippines hosted this year. As expected, it was attended by our President (and one more leader), a handful of local and foreign ministers, members from the international business community and media and private individuals representing their respective groups and organizations. It started with cocktails, then dinner and ended with a cultural show.

More Time with Family

After I got married, I have to admit I had less time to spend with my family. With family, I mean my parents and my three siblings. When I was still single, I used to be a homebody who spent most of my time with them. When the hubby came into my life, I had to share some of my time with him also.

It’s a good thing I have a husband who understands my need to check on my family, especially my parents, from time to time. It’s a good thing also that we live near them, well, technically. My in-laws’ place in Manila (where we stay at least twice or thrice a week) and my parents’ place are just a few steps away from each other.

Weekend = Preparations

The past weekend was quite busy. The hubby and I spent it preparing his things for his short Bohol vacation with my PILs and my SIL. They actually left for Tagbilaran just this morning. As much as I wanted to join them, I can’t. I’m swamped with work and my boss specifically requested for me and my officemates not to go on leave lest we lose our job. Just kidding. But yes, we can’t go on leave until we’re finished with our three upcoming big events.

So, last Saturday, the hubby and I were at SM Bacoor so he could get some new toiletries. He even got some pet shampoos for his grandma’s dogs. Had I known it earlier, I would have bought some douxo shampoo online as they’re currently on sale. Anyway, he also bought a new pair of slippers and some new shirts.
