Home Improvement Project: Front Extension

Armed with the PhilHealth refund check we received in May, some extra money and additional funds from my PILs, we have finally pushed through the construction of our front extension. We hired our old contractor Ronald and his team for the job which took almost three weeks to finish.

the finished product (sorry it’s been raining a lot these days, hence, the sinampay)

We built concrete fences on both sides, a metal gate with matching metal grills in front, polycarbonate roofing and tiled flooring. We also asked Ronald to put a hanging sink with wooden counter tops (using my MIL’s narra scraps) in one corner so we could do some cooking and cleaning outside the house. This will come in handy when we’d have guests coming over or we’d suddenly decide to hold a last-minute party with our families.

Here are some photos the hubby took during and after construction:

The hubby and I are happy we’re now done with our back and front extensions! Our next project is the renovation of our bathroom. The hubby wants mosaic tiles installed but I heard they’re costly. Anyway, we don’t have the funds for that yet. Wish us luck in saving up for it! 🙂

  1. Ang totyal na ng house lalo na sa gabi!! Hehehe. Nice work edelweiza.. Bakit parang di ko nakita yyung renovation ng back part ng house? Inspiring eh. Before I get pregnant kasi, I planned to buy a house din sa may Imus. Nag down payment na nga ako eh. =( Hindi ko natuloy kasi I wasn’t working when I got pregnant.

    1. Naku Jen, ang sakit din sa bulsa. Haha. Thanks dear. I didn’t blog about the back extension, wala kasi ako masyado pics ng before and during construction, puro after photos na. Ay, talaga? Sayang naman, try mo ulit now, hehe. Para sakin ha, mas practical bumili ng house sa Cavite kesa sa Laguna, ang mahal ng toll fees doon saka nalalayuan ako. 🙂

  2. So fulfilling yung mga ganitong projects. But what made this more special and sentimental, at the same time, was the fact na may contribution pala si Pippo dito. Nakakatouch naman (Sorry, I’m such a drama queen.hehe)

    1. Waaaaah, wag mo nga ako paiyakin Ella! Drama queen din kaya ako. Haha. Oo nga eh, sayang hindi nya magagamit yang house na yan, but he’s in a better place, so okay na rin. 🙂
