I want to be a flexitarian.

A semi-vegetarian or flexitarian diet is described on Wikipedia as “one that is plant-based with the occasional inclusion of meat products. Lately, I’ve been thinking of adopting this kind of diet primarily for my weight loss efforts. I wouldn’t mind reaping its health benefits in the long run, too.

The last time I checked my weight (just this morning!), it was 126 lbs. I’m 5’4″ tall and wear a size M, sometimes L. My weight usually goes up to 130 lbs. during weekends (when I tend to overeat!) and go back to 124 lbs. during weekdays when I get to control my appetite (most of the time, ehem). That’s been the case for me in the past months and somehow, I’m a bit disappointed with the results of my weight loss efforts so I’m thinking, maybe this flexitarian diet could work on me. Haha.

You see, my target weight is 118 lbs. and my dream weight is 3 lbs. lighter than that. I’ve also been documenting my weight loss efforts on this blog and I realized my last update was December 2013 pa. (I even did the popular GM diet before and had good results.) It only means one thing, and that is, I’m not making any progress. Blame that to my love affair with sweets, rice and red meat(?).

When my shopping fast is over, I’d like to challenge myself on this new diet. Who knows, I might just be able to embrace it for good? Waaaah, sana kayanin ko!

Have you tried going vegetarian or semi-vegetarian before? 🙂

May you choose happiness always,

  1. naku, medyo mahirap hirap yang challenge na yan lalo na sa tulad natin na mahilig kumain!hehe!
Pero kaya mo yan edel, shopping fast nga nakayanan e, diba? Go! Go! Go!=)

  2. By looking at the pictures on your posts, I think you just look fine with your weight and height. My problem is to gain weight,I’m under 100 lbs and the only time I hit 100+ when I was pregnant with our girls. But if you’re really thinking about it,lessen eating sweets and replace them by eating fruits and doing some exercises like walking or jogging will help.

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Gladys! Many people tell me the same thing, that I don’t look fat. I guess I just want to look better and feel healthier? Haha. I also want to fit in my old and smaller clothes, and save money in the process. So you see, it will make me accomplish a lot of things that’s why I’m excited about it. 😉
