Weekend Story: Fun Saturday and Productive Sunday

Last weekend was spent entirely in Manila. The hubby had classes on Saturday and I had to go to work yesterday so we ditched the idea of spending the weekend in Bacoor. It turned out to be a good decision because we had ample time to spend with our respective families.

On Saturday, while the hubby was getting to know his new teachers and classmates at the university (read: first day of classes), I crossed the street and went to my siblings’ place to bond with my family.

The hubby got his new iPhone 6 the day before and so I finally got hold of his iPhone 5. Haha.

The iPhone 4 I was using (which was a hand-me-down phone from him as well) now belongs to my mom. She was ecstatic when I gave it to her on Saturday morning and even posted this on FB before the day ended:

spell happy!

But before she was able to use her new phone, we had to go to SM Manila first to have her sim cut (from regular to micro) by Globe. That quick trip to the mall gave us the opportunity to have a mom-and-daughter date. In the future, I want to date my mom on a regular basis!

Sunday was productive because I worked from afternoon ’til night. (The hubby doesn’t forget to hear mass on Sundays and so he made sure to take me to church in the morning.) Here’s a snap of the table setup at the event we oversaw that night:

It was just a simple party. Food was served buffet style and guests arrived in casual outfits. It started well and ended well. Everybody happy.

On a different note, it’s a happy Monday at work today because our Christmas bonuses have arrived! For me, it means budgeting the money well to make sure it goes to the right places.

Have a great week, friends! 🙂

May you choose happiness always,

  1. I haven’t dated my mom in a while. Thanks for the reminder! Haha! I also got hold of my 13th month pay so the first things I did were to set aside a specific amount for our house amortization (which will probably start next year), and then we started buying Christmas presents! Bago pa man maubos! Iwas Christmas rush na rin. 🙂

    1. You’re welcome, sis. Hihi. Maaga rin pala ang bigayan ng 13th month pay sa inyo! Ay naku, ang gastos mamili ng Cristmas presents lalo na kung demanding ang mga kapatid at magulang. Dinadaan nila ako sa lambing, waaaah. 🙂

  2. wow, i phone 6! i’m sure masaya mom mo kasi may bago din syang phone. Never pa kami nag date ng mom ko, usually family pag lumalabas.

Exciting na mamili ng presents! yey! =)

    1. Personally, I wouldn’t buy that phone. I really find it expensive eh, kahit madami pa maganda features at apps na pwede idownload. But my hubby thinks differently, obviously. 🙂
