Weekend Story: Mother’s Day Celebration + National Elections 2016

Last weekend was great. Mame, my brother Dan, and my sister Nyam joined the hubby and I in our Bacoor home. We drove there on Saturday night and went back to Manila on Monday morning for the national elections.

The hubby and I had an impromptu Captain America movie date on Saturday noon. He said he wanted to treat me because it’s Mother’s Day the next day. Para matuwa raw ang aming angel son Pippo sa kanya. Haha. In fairness, we enjoyed our time together.

We also heard the 6PM mass at St. Michael and the Archangels Shrine before going home in Bacoor.

Bacoor-bound with my family, we dropped by North Park Macapagal Blvd. to have dinner. Mame was able to convince my brother to foot the bill. Thanks again, kuy!

Swimming all day was how Mame wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day. Eh di ibigay ang hilig! So, we woke up early on Sunday morning to go to Water Park Resort in Kawit, Cavite. We loved the clean and orderly atmosphere there. Plus, the facilities were okay. We thought the PHP260 entrance fee per head was sulit na!

Ang dami nga lang tao lalo na nung bandang hapon, kalurkey! It’s best to come early so you could get the nice tables or cottages. We got lucky because the table we rented was near all the pools, the food stalls, and the entrance/exit points.

We tried all the water attractions: adult pool, children’s pool, lazy river, and the new wave pool! It was all fun, fun, fun! Para kaming mga bata; sobrang saya magtampisaw sa tubig! Siyempre, ang pinaka nag-enjoy, si Mame na addict sa swimming, hahaha.

On our way back to Bacoor, we had a quick stop-over at Aguinaldo Shrine to have pictures.

We would drive back to Manila on election day and reach my PILs’ place at around 11AM. After unloading our things from the car, we walked straight to V. Mapa High School in Mendiola to vote. It took us less than 10 minutes to cast our votes as there was no queue at our precinct. Awesome!

When nighttime came, the Techos and the Mabalays (except for my sister Jodie who excused herself and my brother Dan who was on teacher duties as part of the Board of Election Inspector at their school) converged at SM Manila for a post-Mother’s Day family dinner.

At home from the mall, we got glued to the TV checking out election results. Mayor Duterte was leading the presidential poll while for the vice-presidential one, Sen. Marcos and Congw. Robredo were having a tight fight for the top spot. Sino dito ang gusto manalo si Congw. Robredo? I do. If you are like me, then let’s pray for her victory! 🙂

How was your weekend, friends? Kwentuhan nyo ako! 🙂

May you choose happiness always,
