Weekend Story: Quiet Family Time + Evia Lifestyle Center

Weekends are for family and friends. In our case, it’s been more with family in the past months. Families are forever, after all. And they’re one of the very few constant entities in our ever-changing world. Last weekend was spent with family as Mame and my younger sister Jodie joined us in Bacoor.

On Saturday morning, the hubby biked at Mall of Asia while I did a 10km combination of running, jogging, and brisk walking in our ‘hood. As much as I missed staying late in bed, I couldn’t allow myself to put on more weight. A gain of 10 lbs. in just a span of two months is unjustifiable. I need to lose weight for health and vanity reasons! 😛

We would drive to Bacoor with our two house guests that night after hearing the 6PM mass at Malate Church and having a quick dinner at Wok In. I just wanted Mame to try their famous “sipa” and I was glad she liked it.

My brother Danison was with us during the mass and the dinner but he declined our Bacoor invitation because he already had other plans with his friends.

We spent most of Sunday at home. We just went out at nighttime to check out the improvements at Evia Lifestyle Center in Daang Hari, Las Piñas.

The glass building there is now partially operational complete with new shops, restaurants, and the cinema house. I saw Uniqlo, Bench, CBTL, Hap Chan, Vanilla Cupcake Bakery, and more. We have yet to try the cinema house but I heard they show some movies in 4D. Cool, ayt?

If they would play some band or musicians carrying Les Paul Custom Guitars at the atrium on weekends, more people will surely flock there. Just thinking out loud. Haha.

The four of us had dinner at Burger King and shared some cake and tea at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery after.

Tapos konting picture-picture din ng OOTD, request ni Mame yan! And then we went home to rest and sleep.

We would drive back to Manila early morning of Monday and just like that, another weekend has ended and a new work week has begun. Here’s wishing you all a fun and fab week ahead! 🙂

  1. Weekends are always for the family 🙂 Pero now that I live abroad, ‘church family’ na lang muna ang kasama pag weekend. Nakaka miss din, but I’m grateful I have a community I can call my second family dito 🙂 The cake from Vanilla Cupcake Bakery is just too cute to eat! Have a blessed week, Edel!

    1. You’re lucky to have a community there that you can call your second family. Iba talaga makipagkapwa tao ang mga Pinoy maski nasaan sila. Re: cake from Vanilla Cupcake Bakery, masarap ang pagkagawa nila, carrot cake sya, actually. 🙂

  2. I’m back! :p

Ay mukhang maganda sa Evia Lifestyle Center. Another place for my husband and I to discover in Cavite. I like reading your posts kasi it gives me a chance to appreciate what Cavite has to offer since lilipat na kami very soon 🙂

    1. Hello, Rach! Thank you naman. Hehe. Yes, magandang alternative ang Evia sa SM malls na naglipana sa Cavite. 🙂

  3. Yung feeling na nakakalakwatsa na lang ako by reading your weekend stories. Hihi. And oh, that chevron printed dress looks good on you! Super love! 🙂

    1. Haha, soon magliliwaliw na rin kayo ng bongga paglaki pa ng konti ni Zayne. Thank you sis for the compliment! 🙂

  4. Is sipa a fried dumpling of sorts? Ka-curious lang the shape!

Also, your panoramic photo of Evia reminds me of Venice Piazza in McKinley. I noticed that Victorian-style architecture is hot nowadays!

    1. Naks, thank you Diane! Wok In is just across Malate Chruch. Kahilera sya ng 7-Eleven dun. Yung cake, okay lang, hehe. 🙂
