Happy Father’s Day

My dad, now 56 years old, is already retired from work. He didn’t really go on retirement, it just happened that he lost his job early. When he tried to find a new job at a not so young age, opportunities eluded him. We didn’t blame him, though. We knew he did his best but luck wasn’t on his side. When I, as the eldest child, became the breadwinner of our six-member family, I embraced the role tight and did my best to fulfill my new responsibilities.

Today, when the world is paying homage to fathers because of their contribution in strengthening the foundations of their respective families, I have my father to honor. I know my dad did well in raising us, his children. He’s also been a good husband and my mom can attest to that. I believe he deserves all the accolades so this post is my way of thanking him for all his sacrifices for our family. Even if I had all the best coupon codes online to be used on a Father’s Day present for him, I know that my simple and kind-hearted dad would prefer my warmest hugs and sincerest appreciation over any material things in this world.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is just around the corner. In our family, we don’t have an elaborate celebration for this occasion. We just greet our father and share a special meal and that’s it. Simple but meaningful.

But then of course, as you grow up, things change. You tend to be more generous and caring. For this Father’s Day, I want to give my father a nice gift. Something functional that he could use for a long time. Since he loves to smoke (his only vice that he can’t quit from), I plan to give him an electronic cigarette or some fuente cigars. Hmmm, I think the former suits him better. And it might just pave the way for him to stop smoking permanently.
