Weekend Story: Fun with the Gang (a.k.a. Family)

Last weekend was all about the gang, also known as my family. I always have fun with them around, especially Mame who is effortlessly funny. Cliché as it sounds but I look forward to spending time with my family, no matter how short that time is. Our family is far from perfect, but we work things out and the love is always there. I’m also glad that the hubby gets along with them, sometimes even better than I do. Haha.

Weekend Story: Eating and Biking Galore

Last weekend was filled with eating and biking, hence, the title. It started on Friday night when the hubby and I, along with my in-laws, went to Blue Bay Walk on Macapagal Blvd. My PILs suddenly decided to dine out to remember the 6th death anniversary of the hubby’s aunt (we miss you, Mamala!) in advance.

2016 Personal Theme: Health + Wealth

Instead of a resolution or a goal post, I thought of writing a personal theme post. For this year, I want to focus on health and wealth. I couldn’t pick a single theme so I opted for a double. Is that good or bad? Haha, actually, I don’t want to know. All I know is that, compared to last year, I have a clearer vision for this year of the things I want to accomplish and most of them revolve around health and wealth. So health and wealth it is!

Eat healthy, get fit, and lose weight. I got a bit disappointed with myself last year for not having enough discipline to reach my target weight. I tried zumba, jogging, and even yoga, but no visible and satisfying results were achieved. 2016 gives me another opportunity to get more serious and do better, so wish me luck, friends!

From Baking to Biking

Last Tuesday, which was a special non-working day for Manila-based workers like me, I engaged in two activities that allowed me to think, move, sweat, be patient and have fun all at the same time. I’m talking about baking and biking. Wow, those two rhyme beautifully, huh!

In the morning, together with my ever-dependable husband, I replenished my baking supplies over at Makati Supermart – Alabang where I found out prices are somehow lower than at SM Supermarkets. Don’t just take my word for it, try shopping there some time and see for yourself.

Health Matters

I just found out that a friend has to undergo surgery because of a myoma or fibroid that grew in her uterus. Hearing news like this scares the hell out of me. I used to be afraid of doctors and going to hospitals but I have overcome the fear over time. But still, I can’t help but be paranoid about my own health when I hear other people sharing something negative about their health.

I am particularly concerned with my reproductive health. When I landed my first job, I started scheduling a trip to the OB-Gyne for my annual check-up. This includes breast exam, pap smear and vaginal ultrasound to identify any growths or abnormalities in my reproductive system. So far, the only thing they have spotted inside my uterus was a growing fetus and that surely made me very happy (yes, despite the saddening outcome in the end).
