Dieting Blues

The past weeks have been quite gloomy for me when it comes to dieting. My weight has been stuck at this particular measurement that not’s worth mentioning. It would change one or two pounds lower one day, but would go back to the old measurement the next day. Bummer. I complained about this to a friend and she said I’m still lucky I don’t gain weight continuously. My weight just changes a little and then goes back, and that’s it.

I had recently devised a plan of going into serious diet mode during the weekends but it didn’t work. I almost always ended up overeating during the weekends. Good for my husband, but bad for me. Or should I say, the plan was bad in the first place? I forgot to consider the fact that weekends are the only time I get to cook, and that whenever I’m cooking, my appetite instantly gets awakened.

Back to the Gym

After years of not going to the gym, I’m now into it again. I’m trying to lose more weight, so why not? Thrice a week ain’t bad. I mean, instead of being a couch potato after going home from work, I might as well burn some calories on the treadmill. The fact that the use of the gym is free (courtesy of the office) makes it all the more enjoyable and fuss-free.

As much as I want to spend two hours in the gym, I can only stay for an hour or when I get lucky, an hour and a half. I usually get to the gym at 6pm and the people there starts to leave just when I’m about to lift weights at 7:30. I don’t think I can work out alone, you know, what with the ghost stories I heard about the building, particularly the 4th floor where the gym is. One story even tells of a trade printer in an office running unmanned. Scary!

GM Diet, Day 1

This is the first time I’m following a diet plan and documenting about it. The name is General Motors Diet or simply GM Diet. (Try googling it and you’ll see a lot of sites talking about it, recommendations, reviews, tips and all.) Basically, it’s a 7-day diet plan originally designed for General Motors Corporation employees to stay in shape and has become quite popular over the years. I would find out later, though, that the GM claim isn’t true. It’s actually more of a modified version of the cabbage soup diet. But I digress.

I first found out about the GM Diet from a blog I visited yesterday. Now, what has made me decide to take on this diet challenge? I have several strong reasons:

1. The food required are all healthy and readily available.
2. The diet plan claims to achieve a weight loss ranging from 10 to 17 lbs, if complemented with exercise.
3. It’s also a sort of “detoxifying” diet.
4. I’ve decided to take my weight loss goal more seriously.
5. This is my first try to follow a diet plan. If it ends up a failure, I’ll just charge it to experience. Haha.

Stuck at 130

I don’t know if I should be happy or sad about this. Happy, because it means my metabolism is improving. Sad, because after exerting so much little effort in losing weight, I got stuck at 130 lbs. I know, it’s all my fault. I should’ve eaten less when I could.

My big day is just a month away. And I’m weighing 130 lbs. Imagine that. When I looked at my face in the mirror this morning and smiled a bit, I saw a girl in her late 20’s with full cheeks and a double chin. For some reason, my skin also looked quite dry. I need to do something about this. I know I do.

Weight Loss Update: Happy at 130!

It’s been two months and 19 days since I started my new weight loss journey and I’m happy to report that I have already lost 8 lbs. It’s a slow but sure progress and I wouldn’t ask for it any other way. Currently, I weigh 130 lbs. This is a big achievement for me because I really wanna reach my ideal weight of 115 lbs. before the year ends.

Don’t ask me about my dietary habits because I don’t follow a particular diet plan. I just watch and record what I eat. I don’t even have the time or the drive to exercise. I live a sedentary life. As an office girl, I sit in front of the computer all throughout the day. But if you’re really insistent, I’d like to recommend the Ketogenic diet as I wanna try it soon. I heard even those with Sous Chef Jobs that have the tendency to overeat because they’re always in front of food lose weight with the help of this diet plan. Just google it to find out how it really works.
