Wednesday Night at Eastwood, Libis

Eastwood, a posh hang-out place in Libis, Quezon City, is far from my place. To give you an idea on how far it is from where I live, the normal taxi fare goes at around P150 one way. That’s the reason why whenever I get the chance to go there, I jump at the opportunity. Last night, I was lucky to have been invited by a blogger friend to try the offerings of the Flying Pig, one of the hip restaurants under the Red Crab chain. They serve mostly pork dishes and I was glad I went because I had a great time feasting on savory pork dishes that were far from ordinary.

Eastwood is a lovely place that looks very upscale to me. Each time I go there, I wander around like a kid. I like that the main mall, Eastwood Mall, is surrounded by nice-looking establishments (bars, cafes, restaurants, gadget shops, boutiques, etc.) as well as high-rise condominiums and office buildings. There’s also a big fountain in front of the mall that’s good for picture taking. I love that my photos taken there appear as if I was in a foreign country. I also noticed that it seems independent from the rest of Quezon City (slums, bad traffic and all). People who frequent the place will certainly understand what I mean by that.

Saturday is Pampering Day

After a busy work week, I finally had the chance to spend Saturday pampering myself. Thanks to a blogger friend, I was able to go on a road trip and enjoy a feast of Indonesian food at John Bamboo Sate House. Its first and only branch (at present) was located at Nuvali, a bustling, self-sustaining community in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. Not only that, he even got us (me and our other blogger friends) a full body massage at Ritz Spa in Malate. It was oh-so relaxing and rejuvenating, I tell you. How I wish all Saturdays of my life could be like that.

It was my first time to set foot at Nuvali and I so liked it there. There were restaurants, banks, convenience stores and specialty shops and boutiques. The facilities were clean and green. It also had a man-made lake where koi (a kind of ornamental carp) abound. One could feed the cute koi after paying a small fee. There were also boat rides and bicycles for rent. All this and more make it a great place for families (and lovers, too) to spend the day together.

An Eventful Week

Last week was loaded with happenings. It all started at the restaurant where I work part-time where we had big groups from Monday to Friday. I had to pass up on the Friday party, though, because that was the date I reserved a table for three at Sofitel’s Spiral for the boyfriend, his sister A and yours truly.

Though I’m quite familiar with the buffet setting in restaurants, it was my first time to have a Spiral buffet dinner. Oh boy was it overwhelming! I haven’t seen so much food in one place.

A New Car, Baby!

No, it’s not mine but I have every reason to be happy about the boyfriend’s recent purchase of a brand new car. It’s a Nissan Sentra, 2008 model. The color is steel gray and I love how it looks cool on the eyes. Yesterday, the boyfriend picked me up in the office using it. We were both ecstatic. We never thought 2011 will be this comfortable and convenient for us, transportation wise.

Of course, the happiness is felt by the two families (his and mine). It’s gonna be our service vehicle because we share things together and we treat each other as family already. Haha. Now I’m wondering what the next step will be. Oooooops, not what most of you might be thinking right now but we’re going to that part in the near future.
