Weekend Story: Suits Marathon + St. Pio Shrine in Sto. Tomas, Batangas

Last weekend was spent in Bacoor and Manila, as usual. We were already in Bacoor as early as Friday night this time, though. On Saturday morning, the hubby and I watched several episodes of Suits, a US TV series about this genius albeit fake lawyer Mike Ross. We just love it, from the story to the stellar cast. Somehow, it reminds me of my childhood dream of being a lawyer. If you want to know how the US justice system works and how law firms do their business, then this is the show for you. I don’t know with you but I always have a great time watching Mike Ross and Harvey Specter (Ross’s boss) work together on a case, with Mike Ross almost always figuring out something to win it. Their everyday banter is cute, too. We can’t wait to get to the final season (Season 7)!

The hubby and I also went out on Saturday night. Chosen place was Alabang Town Center. We initially wanted to watch a movie but decided against it because the hubby remembered we had to sleep early for our trip to St. Pio Shrine in Batangas the next day. On Sunday morning, we drove to Sto. Tomas, Batangas to hear the 8:30AM mass at St. Pio Shrine. A lot has changed on the place. There are now ample parking spaces and new structures in the complex. The hubby also noticed that they use solar power which was great. From the shrine, we drove straight to my in-laws’ place in Manila, rested a bit, and prepared for the new work week.

Weekend Story: Christmas Shopping Here and There

Last weekend, the hubby and I continued with our Christmas shopping. Little purchases here and there in the past weekends and before we knew it, we were able to complete all we needed to buy for ourselves this Christmas, including our gifts for each other. As usual, family members wanted cash gifts instead of actual presents and so those were what they got. The good thing about this is I have a feeling we’ll have a stress-free holiday come December 25th. The sad thing about this is there’s no longer a Landmark Makati Christmas shopping with my girls to look forward to this month like in the past years. Sila rin naman kasi nagsipag-shopping na rin nung mga nakaraang linggo, kami rin nga yung magkakasama lol, kaya halos nabili na rin ang lahat ng kailangan nila.

The hubby and I drove home in Bacoor on Friday night along with my SIL Albie. Then we went out on Saturday afternoon to shop in Alabang while Albie commuted back to Manila because she wanted to spend the rest of the weekend with my PILs. We stayed in Bacoor until Sunday afternoon and met with my in-laws at night to have dinner and do more shopping at our fave mall, SM Manila, haha.

Weekend Story: Impromptu Tagaytay Trip

For last weekend, the hubby suddenly decided to drive to Tagaytay on a Sunday morning right after we went to church to hear mass. My mind was preoccupied with work (i.e. ASEAN-related events) that I just said yes without thinking. Before I knew it, I was already staring at the beautiful Taal Lake and wolfing down some burger and rice meals at Mushroomburger. It was a fun trip which I would like to do every now and then as I want to try as much restaurants and attractions in Tagaytay as I can given our free time and of course, budget.

Weekend Story: Car Club Meet-Up, Calda Pizza, and Some Diet Change

Last weekend was quiet and relaxing. Friday night saw the hubby and me joining my officemates in traveling to Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas to visit the wake of my officemate Gerlie’s father. From Batangas, we drove to Bacoor (but only after dining at a McDonalds store for the requisite pagpag practice) with our good friend Carmela who also joined the wake visit because she and Gerlie’s sister are officemates also. She would then leave us for Manila on Saturday morning just in time for the arrival of Mame and my sister Jodie who planned to spend the rest of the weekend with us. That night, the hubby and I went out to hear the anticipated mass at Madonna del Amore Quasi Parish in Las Piñas and attend another Team Accent Philippines (TAP) – South Chapter meet-up at Manong’s Grill in Alabang where we got to meet and mingle with more TAP members.

Weekend Story: Food Trips + Unli Movies

Last long weekend was relaxing. I think it had to do with the weather, our house guests (Mame, Daddy, and my sister Jodie), and the things we did. Like going on food trips in BF Homes, Parañaque and in Alabang. Like watching movies on Netflix (thanks to its 1-month free trial, haha). Like spending time with my family, just talking to and laughing with them. Like cuddling with the hubby. Like cooking for my loved ones and washing the dishes. Like listening to the sound of the pouring rain outside. Like doing nothing and just feeling the moment. Overall, it was a long weekend well spent. And as early as now, I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Weekend Story: TAP Event + Slow Sunday in Bacoor

Last weekend flew by fast. On Saturday, I accompanied the hubby in attending his car club’s 6th anniversary grand eye ball held at Googel restaurant in Mandaluyong City. There we met more than 600 members (most of them with +1’s, too) of Team Accent Philippines (TAP). The event was fun and came complete with production numbers and raffle draws. I think we reached Bacoor just before midnight. Our Sunday started late. We skipped going to church this time and just stayed home to rest until it was time to go back to Manila at night. Oh, I also did some workout in the morning pala because I felt I have gotten so big already.*sigh*
