Weekend Story: My 37th Birthday Celebration

Last weekend was another long one for me because yesterday, October 12th, was my birthday. Yay, I just turned 37 years old! I really can’t ask for more blessings from above because I’ve had enough this year (despite the CoViD-19 pandemic being a kill joy!), the greatest of them being NJ, our rainbow baby. She’s growing up so fast and we can’t wait to do more family activities with her that involves going out of the house. It’s my first birthday with her around and it feels so surreal. My heart is filled with gratitude and I plan to continue with this state of heart (and mind) for as long as I can.

Weekend Story: Baby NJ’s Pedia Visit + Edwin’s 41st Birthday Celebration

Last weekend was a long one for us because we took a leave from work yesterday for the hubby’s birthday. Well, technically, it was just him who literally took a leave from work because I was working from home yesterday.

On Saturday, we took baby NJ to her pediatrician (whose clinic is located in Binondo, Manila) for her second pneumococcal and third rotavirus vaccines. One more vaccine to go and our wallets will be able to rest temporarily until next year!

Weekend Story: Father’s Day 2019 in Baguio City

For Father’s Day weekend this year, the hubby and I took my parents to Baguio City. It was my father’s first time in the city of pines so the trip was double the fun and excitement. We stayed at Mountainside Lodging House, the place where we stayed in during my last visit to Baguio with the hubby. For this particular visit, we saw The Mansion, Mines View Park, and Burnham Park. We bought pasalubongs and had ice cream at Good Shepherd. We had my parents experience the festive Baguio night market. We dined at Pine Country Steaks and Waffles, Good Taste Restaurant, and Cafe by the Ruins. We also had cakes from Vizco’s. All in all, it was an awesome overnight stay in Baguio appreciating Daddy and honoring his presence in our lives.

Weekend Story: Cooling Down At Home

Last weekend was steady. The weather was still very hot and it didn’t help that I still had to move around the house to get things done. But everything was manageable naman despite the fact that the hubby wasn’t around. He got lucky and was able to travel to Bohol for a short vacay. He missed his parents so much and there was no better time to go. As for me, I got left behind with our pet dog Jasper. I couldn’t join the hubby because of the tight sched in our office, so sad.

Weekend Story: Wedding Anniversary Celebration (Twin Lakes Hotel Tagaytay)

Last weekend was declared an #EandEHoliday. March 17, 2019 was our 7th wedding anniversary, after all. And so we decided last minute to celebrate by having a staycation at Twin Lakes Hotel Tagaytay. Best decision, ever! I found a good deal from Deal Grocer and got a room for the hubby and me at just PhP6,250. It was actually good for three persons na but that third person is yet to be born in this world (wishful thinking!), haha. We had a fantastic stay at the hotel, got to dine at Neri’s Not So Secret Garden (bilang fan ako ng #WaisNaMisis), and visited Caleruega Retreat Center to pray and give thanks to the Lord for our awesome seven years of marriage. (I even bumped into mommy blogger Badet there who was with her family!) To more happy years together!

Weekend Story: Captain Marvel Movie Date and Get-Together with the Legardas

Last weekend was quite busy, event-wise. On Saturday, the hubby and I took care of household chores (this included giving our dog Jasper a bath and going to the wet market with Mame) and some errands. I also got to go on a movie date with Mame and my sister Jodie. Captain Marvel was entertaining and we were wowed by Brie Larson’s character’s amazing powers, ha! The movie was good, at least in our collective opinion. Movie reviews online say otherwise, though.

On Sunday, I got to do some laundry (one month’s worth of my office clothes!) in the morning and joined the hubby and my SIL Albie in going to Manila Polo Club in Makati in the afternoon for a get-together with our former bosses — the Legardas. There were lots of laughter, conversation, picture-taking, and of course, food…and for a moment, I forgot I was on a diet, hahaha.
