A Job Dilemma

If you’re no longer happy with your job, would you find a new one? It’s a tough question. More so if you’ve been used to doing the work you do, the compensation package and the other perks that go with it. It’s a sad fact that it’s hard to get a job these days. If you’re stuck in a job that no longer brings out the best in you, inspires you or gives you a sense of fulfillment, would you decide to give it up and look for another one?

There are many reasons why people become unhappy with their jobs. It could be the harsh working conditions, the bosses, the people you work with or the complexity of the job itself. But there are also an equal number of reasons why people have to hold on to their jobs. Arriving at a decision, therefore, is equally hard and requires an intensive assessment of the pro’s and con’s.

It’s Cramming Time!

It’s ironic how I hate the word “cramming” yet I have embraced the bad practice of cramming through the years. Back in college, I would always cram whenever exam period was fast-approaching. At work, I still cram in finishing some of my monthly tasks, albeit discreetly. Haha.

My wedding is happening very soon. I still have a few things to do and as much as I don’t want to cram, I feel like I’m cramming already. I know I should be taking my beauty rest now (I’m the bride, after all) but I can’t just do that at this point. I cannot afford to mess up on my wedding day. I’m so glad I made a wedding checklist which, so far, has been keeping me sane with all the last-minute wedding details that I need to attend to. Oh my, wait a sec, I just remember my florist told me to get some gift baskets for the styling of the reception venue.*cramming starts here*

Lazy Saturday

Today is one of the very few Saturdays that I managed to wake up late. I see it as a blessing because not only did my body get the rest it wanted, I was also able to cook some breakfast for me and my siblings in the apartment. Later, I’m going to the mall to pay bills and tonight, I’ll be working at the restaurant. It’s a normal day and there’s not much to do, and yet I feel truly blessed.

Right now, I’m thinking which mall to visit. I only have a few choices so deciding should be easy. Aside from the bills that need to get paid, I think I need to get myself a new pair of flats (the one I’m using is worn-out already), a new dress and perhaps some discount cds for my teacher brother who’s currently working on some VisualBasic programming for the IT workshop he’s giving next week.

Busy Weekend Ahead

Despite the fact that the coming weekend is gonna be super busy for me, I still feel like saying TGIF! I just love Friday, no questions asked. Traffic may be bad/worse/worst (depends on the location, actually) during this day but you know, it’s a sad reality that people in Manila have come to accept and live with through the years.

Aaargh, we have work in the office tomorrow! I wish my boss changes her mind about it. Originally, I had plans for tomorrow to go to our Cavite house but since we were asked to report for work, I had to fix my sched right there and then. Sunday is equally hectic because we have a wedding-related appointment to attend to and I have work at the restaurant come dinnertime.

It’s His Birthday!

Remember when I said October was such a heavy month for us when it came to celebrations? I wasn’t kidding. In fact, the celebration has officially begun. It’s the fiancé’s birthday today! I wanted to be the first to greet him a happy birthday so I stayed in his room until midnight. We were both tinkering with our laptops and minding our own businesses but when the clock struck 12, I just had to stop to greet him and give him hugs and kisses. Haha.

I can’t believe he’s 32 already (he’s four years my senior). How time flies! I’m happy to know that as he ages, his level of maturity and his sense of responsibility improve, too. He’s been such a loving, caring, nurturing, sweet, kind and patient fiancé to me. I really can’t ask for more. In our relationship, he’s the giver and I’m the taker most of the time. I guess it’s because of our age gap. Nonetheless, we get along very well and we love each other’s families. No counting of shortcomings and misgivings, just sharing pure and faithful love.

Back from the Beach Trip

My first summer outing has just come to an end. As expected, it was fun and relaxing. I couldn’t ask for more. Two days of basking in the sun and frolicking in the surprisingly clear Quezon waters was invigorating. I loved the touch of my feet in the fine brown sand. At one moment, I even felt like I was in Panglao and Boracay. The private beach resort we went to was plain and nothing exceptional but it sure relieved my longing for the sea and all the fun that came with it. I was very satisfied.

Now that I’m back home, I can’t help but reminisce of my first summer adventure this 2011. Spending time with the fiancee and his officemates is something I won’t mind doing again. The road trip we had Friday night was an awesome experience in itself, from the zig zag road and the stop overs to our funny car conversations and finally, arrival in our lodging house for the night. I was exhausted when I got home, yes, but it was all worth it. I would have wanted to extend our stay in Quezon but reality bit…I still had tons of work to do online and offline. Actually I’ve just awaken several minutes ago and right now, I’m checking my mails while reading up human growth hormone reviews. This is gonna be a long night, but I’m not complaining. I had a fun weekend, after all.
