I used to be a fan of telenovelas (my favorites are fantaseryes!) but due to my hectic work schedule, I don’t have much time to get hooked on any of them anymore. Plus, the ones I see on TV these days are not that compelling or maybe, I find the plot too predictable and my curiosity isn’t at all piqued. That was the case until I saw the pilot episode of Precious Hearts Romances Presents ‘Kristine’ at the Kapamilya network last Monday.
I’m happy ABS-CBN thought of this new program. Apparently, Kristine is one among the many pocketbook series authored by Martha Cecilia who happens to be a great novelist. The story line of Kristine alone excites me. It’s about two warring clans and the love that keeps binding them together.
So, it’s Friday once again and everyone’s looking forward to the weekend. I want mine to be restful. I feel I need to rest so I could get rid myself of the cold and cough that has been pestering me for two weeks now.
Due to conflicts in schedule, my officemates and I postponed our Binondo trip once again. We were supposed to have dinner at Sincerity Café and Restaurant tonight as thanksgiving for our getting retained in the office. The new date we set is Monday next week. I hope we push thru with our plan already.
The boyfriend and I are like other normal, young couples today who celebrate this thing called ‘monthsary.’ Ours falls on the 18th and that’s the reason why it’s a big deal. We’re not overly romantic, though, so each monthsary is different. Sometimes we go out and watch a movie, other times we just have dinner and do some window shopping at the mall.
For this month, we decided to have dinner at Yellow Cab just stay home. Actually, it will just be him as I’ll be going straight to the restaurant tonight (my part-time work). We have some guests and as usual, the tour-guide is needed.
I watched Remember Me with my boyfriend last night on DVD. If you’re a fan of Robert Pattinson, this one’s for you. More than my admiration for Robert Pattinson, I liked the movie because of its message of love and hope and optimism.
Basically, the movie is about two people with different perspectives in life who crossed paths and fell in love. It is set in the summer of 2001 in New York City. The plot is somewhat cliché with its family issues and drama but you’ll be surprised with the twist in the end.
I don’t feel good today. Actually, it’s ever since last week. My cough and cold remains active with no hint of disappearing anytime soon. I fight with them by drinking lots and lots of fluids and taking a daily dose of Vitamin C.
As much as possible, I try not to depend on medicines to get better. I think the last over-the-counter drug I bought was Ascof Lagundi and it was like, months ago? The poor cough syrup was not effective on me, though. I ended up producing more phlegm than usual which led to longer recovery.
Battling with cough and cold is hard. But at least I only get sick once or twice a year and they’re just simple ones like fever, cough and cold. In my seven years of stay in the city, I have not been hospitalized yet. God knows I never want this to happen, not even once. I absolutely dread hospitals. I know most people do.
