Weekend Story: Undas 2015

Last weekend was spent here in Manila for Undas 2015.

On Saturday morning, the hubby and I went to the church where the niche of our angel son is located. We just spruced it up and said a prayer for him. We would go back there the next day, Undas proper, to visit again, this time with the hubby’s family.

The rest of Saturday saw us meeting up with friends and family.

For lunch, we were with Edwin’s high school friends (and their kids) at The Patio resto of La Cocina de Tita Moning (LCDTM).

Tita Moning’s bread and butter pudding for dessert, yum!

More than the delicious food we ate, I enjoyed the company of the hubby’s friends who were all kalog and sensible at the same time.

For dinner, the Techos and the Mabalays (with the addition of my cousin Jun2x) trooped to Buffet 101 at Robinsons Magnolia. It was actually a quadruple birthday celebration: my sister’s, my father’s, the hubby’s, and mine. It was quite fun and we all went home with happy tummies!

unli fro-yo is one of the things I love at Buffet 101 (Vikings has it, too!)

The hubby and I woke up early the next day for Undas. We, along with his family, drove to St. Alphonsus Mary the Liguori Parish in Magallanes Village, Makati where the niches of my PILs’ former bosses, the Legarda couple who owned the ancestral home where LCDTM now stands, can be found.

And then we had a quick lunch at Shakey’s, my FIL’s treat, yay!

The rest of Sunday was spent at my PILs’ place to rest and prepare for a new work week. Oh, and I even got around to checking out some stuff online, like those lovely Joy Jewelers stackable expressions that are sure to catch every girl’s fancy. Fab stackable rings are love! I think I just found the perfect Christmas present for my sisters! Hmmm, let me ask them first as they’ve been used to me giving out cash gifts to them (their preference, too) during Christmas.

I hope you guys had a wonderful time last weekend. Kwento naman dyan!

P.S. Hello November! Please be good to us. 🙂

May you choose happiness always,

  1. Medyo matagal tagal na din akong hindi nadadalaw ng sementeryo ah! I remembered when I was little, tuwing undas sumasama ako sa tita ko para dalawin yung lola ko sa North Cemetery na super dameng tao. And I am thankful kasi hindi naman nadadagdagan yung dinadalaw namin aside from my auntie na namatay last year kasi sa province sya and my uncle too na ka-close lang ng age ko.

  2. We don’t usually go to cemetery on Undas because there are a lot of people. We also seldom go to our Dad’s niche. It’s been a while. My hubby said I should have told him to go to cemetery para naipakilala ko naman daw sya kay papa! hahaha. Okay, i never thought of that.

    1. Haha, pakilala mo na kasi, Jen. Ako nga next year, papakilala ko naman si hubby sa lolo’t lola ko sa province, dadalhin ko sya sa puntod nila. 🙂

  3. Hindi kami nakauwi ng probinsya for Undas. Walang oras at ang hirap bumyahe pag may kasamang bata. Hindi ko din naman maiwan. We just went to church and lit candles for our departed loved ones.

  4. Still didn’t get to visit the cemetery. 3 Undas na ata to. Kasi buntis ako tapos eto nga baby pa si Skye. I miss the siksikan sa South cemetery na. Nasa bahay lang kami nag undas. Nag light lang ng candle sa pinto at nanood ng nakakatakot sa tv. Kaloka! 🙂
