Last year was full of pleasant surprises, happy memories, and great luck. Personally, I think it was one of my best years. As a family of three, we ended 2022 on a good note and welcomed 2023 with open arms!
33 in 2016
Because I just turned 33 years old today, I’ve come up with 33 shallow things about myself. I’ll share the deep ones on my 40th birthday, hahaha. But first, this picture taken by the hubby before we went to work this morning:
Now, here goes my list in random order:
Weekend Story: New Year 2016
Last New Year weekend was a blast. Both families (Mabalays and Techos) welcomed 2016 at our home in Bacoor. Our house may be tiny but it sure rose up to the challenge of accommodating all 11 of us. I’m happy to report that we were able to move around and sleep comfortably despite the limited space. Haha.
Prior to Media Noche, I hosted a dinner for my godchildren and other friends on the 30th. (Two years ago, I hosted a tea party naman and my godchildren loved it.)
Weekend Story: Visit to Manaoag Shrine and Some Shopping
Last weekend was tiring but fun. The hubby and I, along with my SIL Albie and our good friend Melay, paid a visit to the Shrine of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Manaoag, Pangasinan on Saturday. We then spent Saturday and Sunday nights at home in Bacoor.
My brother also met with us on Sunday so we could accompany him in purchasing a new laptop at SM Southmall. We bought some needed stuff for ourselves as well. All three of us would go back to Manila early morning of Monday.

Hello, 2015!
It’s a brand new year. How are you doing, friends? I hope you are having a wonderful start. What are your plans? Personally, I don’t have much. But I have a few things that I’d like to “impose” on myself:
1. To have few but better things. 2014 taught me so much about quality over quantity. It doesn’t just apply to things but to people (read: relationships) as well. I thought this would help me appreciate more what I have and promote minimalism in my life, too.
Birthday Presents for Family Members
The month of October is extra special to me and my family. On this month, we celebrate not just my birthday but the birthday of the hubby, my sister Nyam, my father and my grandfather (+). Add to that the birthdays of my best friend in the province and my good friend from high school.
We’re all going to be a year older and hopefully, wiser as well, this month. Like my mom who has recently been a certified senior citizen (and is super proud of it!), I’m not afraid to tell the world of my age. I’m going to be 31 soon!
