My dad, now 56 years old, is already retired from work. He didn’t really go on retirement, it just happened that he lost his job early. When he tried to find a new job at a not so young age, opportunities eluded him. We didn’t blame him, though. We knew he did his best but luck wasn’t on his side. When I, as the eldest child, became the breadwinner of our six-member family, I embraced the role tight and did my best to fulfill my new responsibilities.

Today, when the world is paying homage to fathers because of their contribution in strengthening the foundations of their respective families, I have my father to honor. I know my dad did well in raising us, his children. He’s also been a good husband and my mom can attest to that. I believe he deserves all the accolades so this post is my way of thanking him for all his sacrifices for our family.
