Review: Real Simple Solutions Slimline Hangers

I used to lust over wooden hangers. I thought they were simple and low-maintenance yet they exude a certain sense of elegance. I wanted to buy a few dozen after seeing them at S&R last month but decided against it because I didn’t have enough cash that time. (My credit card was out of the question.) If I remembered correctly, the 5-piece set costs PHP189.75.

The hubby and I dropped by S&R Aseana-Baclaran Branch again last Saturday on our way home to Bacoor to get a quick grab and I suddenly remembered about the wooden hangers. When I saw them again, I thought it was the time to get them. But when my eyes landed on a box of slim hangers made of metal but dressed in olive-colored velvet, I knew right then and there my obsession with wooden hangers has died.

Sucker for Skirts

I’m a sucker for skirts. I’ll prefer them over jeans any day. Even if I have big and hairy legs and my popliteal fossa (undersides of the knees) have turned darker after I got pregnant, I don’t care as long as I’m comfortable and feeling feminine wearing my skirts.

my new thinspiration skirt!

I dunno but skirts give me greater mobility and comfort than jeans or pants do. I’m partial to short skirts over long ones. Two inches or just above the knee are usually okay with me. I wear my skirts with anything: printed blouses, plain tops, blazers, etc. I wear skirts at work, in parties or just when I’m out in the mall or the supermarket.

Dealing with Grief

I’m not always the strong person people think I am. There are times when I suddenly get depressed about the lost of our baby and the depression gets stronger when I see babies carried by their moms (mostly at the church we go to) or read blogs of new moms who are currently enjoying their newborns.

I have realized that dealing with grief is going to be lifetime for me. You know you’re in the process of overcoming it but somehow, it’s there to remind you of the loss every now and then. Even if you constantly assure yourself that you have lifted everything up to God, a lot of things and scenes around you would remind you of the loss. Even if you say you’ve recovered, somehow it’s still there.

Prayerful

I do pray but I can’t say I’m a prayerful person. I think the hubby is, but that’s a story for another post. Now, let me tell you a secret. There are nights when I’m not able to finish praying because sleep gets the better of me. I find out when I wake up the next morning. Ssshhh.

To compensate for that shameless deed, I say a little pray whenever I can and wherever I am. I noticed that aside from churches and bedrooms, places where people could get some privacy are very conducive for praying. I’m sure you know where those places are.

Pretty Little Sister

My pretty little sister J is not so little anymore. Actually, she’s gonna be on her final year in college this year. She’s the youngest in our family but the way she carries herself shows otherwise. My family and I are very proud of her.

J has been taking her studies seriously since she started going to school. During her elementary and high school years, she had those 1st 2nd 3rd place medals and won even more. Now that she’s in college, she continues to be an active student joining in-school organizations and a lot of extra-curricular activities. And when she had the chance to do some part-time work, she also grabbed it. Now she’s earning real money already and gets to support her studies with very little and sometimes zero help from us.

Weekend Love

I have always loved weekends. It’s the time when I can do so much without really trying. Or do nothing at all. It’s also the time when I can get as much rest as I want without worrying about work. Oh, what bliss weekends bring!

This weekend, in our home, is starting the way I liked it. I woke up late (the hubby always wakes up earlier than I do!) and thought I had the best sleep in days. I made breakfast for the two of us and watched a little TV after. Right now, I’m actually on the verge of taking a nap. Haha.
