Weekend Story: New Year 2018

It’s our third time to celebrate New Year at our Bacoor home with both of our families joining us. As usual, it was one fun celebration. Yours truly, being the house manager, was in-charge of the cooking. For my sanity, I made sure our Media Noche menu was as simple but enjoyable as it could be. I was not in the mood to bake so I just bought a chocolate cake from S&R which turned out to be good and super sulit for its P399.95 price. I am definitely buying another one when my godchildren visit me this coming weekend!

Anyway, our long weekend was as fun and relaxing as we wished for. The hubby and I, along with Mame, drove to Bacoor as early as Friday afternoon. We then spent Saturday making a trip to two supermarkets (S&R Imus and SM Bacoor) to buy food items and round fruits for Media Noche. The rest of the family would arrive on Sunday and the hubby and I would make another trip to the supermarket (this time at the nearby Robinsons’) to buy stuff I forgot to get the day before, haha. An hour before the clock struck twelve, we were already dressed up and taking photos (individually and as a group) because that’s what people do when together and celebrating something, hahaha.

Our tiny house erupted with laughter all throughout the night until everybody went to bed early morning of the first day of 2018 to get some sleep.

Because we still did not have work on January 2nd, the hubby and I were able to touch base with friends. First was when we attended the birthday party of our friends’ children (it was a joint celebration) in DasmariΓ±as, Cavite. The second one was when we had dinner at Taguig with the hubby’s two college friends and their respective spouses. We hope to meet up with more friends this year because you know, life is short and friends make life sweeter (and longer, I guess).

  1. Ang exciting ng new year mo, Edel. Zayne refused to wake up so we just let her sleep while Boyet and I just watched TV. =))

I’m glad you had fun with your family. Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing more of your weekend stories this 2018! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Je! Nagmamadali ata lumaki si Zayne, kaya tulog pa more ang peg nya, hehe. Happy New Year, too, mwaaaaah! πŸ™‚

  2. Happy New Year!!! Ang saya saya nung joint forces both family! πŸ™‚ Walang lugi. Kami salubong ng New Year sa bahay namin (my side of the family) tapos after 30 minutes lipat sa bahay ng jowa ko. Buti isang kanto lang ang pagitan. Hahahahaha! At buti wala ng paputok so di na nakakatakot lumabas. Yey!

Here’s to more blessings and happier and healthier 2018 for you sis! Na miss ko basahin blog mo. Nawalan kasi kami net sa bahay since 24th. Kainis!

Thank you, sis!

  3. Happy New Year, Edel! πŸ™‚ It’s always a joy to see families celebrating together and enjoying each other’s company.

  4. Happy new year! Ang saya-saya naman!

Noted on the chocolate cake from S&R. And ok rin yung desserts setup!

I enjoyed all the time spent with family especially with the nieces and grandkids. Ang ingay pag sama-sama pero masaya just to watch them play quarrel and play again all day hahaha!

    1. Happy na, new year pa sayo, Mylene!
