The hubby and I traveled to my hometown in Nueva Ecija last weekend. We were joined by Mame, my aunt Yolly, and my MIL. It was MIL’s first time to visit Peñaranda and do the fiesta thing with us. By fiesta thing, I meant hopping from one house to another to eat and socialize. I’m glad that our trip went smoothly and safely.
Catching up with relatives and friends is always fun. Doing it during the fiesta (read: Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi) is even more so because the atmosphere is festive and there’s lots of scrumptious food on the table. We sometimes even get to take home some food because our relatives and friends say so. (So sweet of them!) And because there’s too many houses to visit with so little time, it is inevitable that a friend makes “tampo” to Mame because she has too many friends in Peñaranda (even if it’s my father’s hometown, not hers) and she usually promises to visit them all. Haha.
Here are three photos (two are overexposed) from our trip:
at Kuya Boy’s house (he’s my father’s first cousin)
ube halaya (sorry lechon lovers but this is the star of every fiesta for me!)
at Ate Ruth’s house (she’s our family friend)
my MIL and her shopping bags at Shell of Asia NLEX (this was on our way back to Manila already)
Have a lovely week, friends! 🙂
May you choose happiness always,
Hope you’re having a great start of the month, Edel! 🙂 Ang tagal ko na rin di nakipiyesta. High school pa yata ako nung last time sa Batangas kami pumunta 🙂
So far, yes. Thank you, Jackie! Hope June treats us well. Masaya maki-fiesta kaso para sa tulad ko na madali matukso sa tawag ng pagkain, sobrang nakakaguilty after, hehehe. 🙂
