The past holidays were quite special and memorable for us because of a number of reasons. To start off, for the first time in our married life, the hubby and I spent Christmas with my in-laws. Our arrangement (since 2012 when we got married) is that we do Christmas with my family in our Naic home and New Year with our two families in our Bacoor home. The Christmas set up changed this year because our Bacoor house is now the only place my in-laws can call home in Luzon. My family, on the other hand, is about to transfer in Bacoor, too, and so they opted to spend Christmas at my siblings’ place in Manila for old times’ sake.
There was also the big move to Bacoor of my family (our new neighbors!!!) which happened on the 30th. We were all exhausted from all the moving and unpacking but we ended the day with big smiles on our faces. It’s going to be a big adjustment for all of us, what with going to work in Manila coming from Bacoor, but you know, we’re very excited over this new set up, this new lifestyle. The possibilities are endless! More family time, easy access to each other’s home, easier communication as we are only separated by a wall of concrete but sharing the same WiFi connection (lol), and more food and other stuff to share. It can’t get any better than this!
Third, our New Year celebration was epic. My aunt Miyang and cousin Hazel came all the way from Laguna to join us. My uncle Roy also dropped by to cook my fave tinumis (a popular dish in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija)! When the clock struck 12, we went out of the house to blow some torotot (party horns) and watch the fireworks display courtesy of our well-off neighbors. We partook of the Media Noche prepared by yours truly and my two mothers (Mame and MIL). We played Jenga after and the winners took home cash prizes. It was a fun, magical night. The hubby and I welcomed the new year with people close to our hearts. We can only wish for more happy and prosperous times like this this 2019!
Lastly, there was the long holiday break. The hubby didn’t have work from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2 while I had my mini-vacation from Dec. 21 to Jan. 3. It was the longest holiday break we’ve had since we started working. Ang saya lang! But now it’s back to reality, hahaha.
During the long holiday break, we got to spend some quality time with our two families. We ate together. We shopped together. We watched MMFF movies together. We drove around Cavite running errands together. All the moments shared and memories created are for keeps.
