Make-Up Rehearsal

I’ve had my make-up rehearsal with Weng yesterday afternoon. She’s a pro who used to work in Kuwait and she’s gonna be my MUA for my wedding next month. Her rates are quite affordable and that was my first consideration when I finally decided to get her.

Weng was easy to work with. I just told her my wedding motiff and she took care of deciding what look suits me best. But of course I still had the last say. I liked the simple look she did on me, the blending, the nose line, the highlights and all. Speaking of those, I guess it’s not so simple after all. Haha. But still, I got the look I wanted and she delivered. And that’s the most important thing.

Craving for Chinese Food

I’ve been cooking Chinese fried rice and buying take-out siomai and siopao the past weekends to somehow satisfy my hunger for Chinese food. I dunno but the fusion of flavors found in Chinese cuisine never fails to make my tummy happy. That, or I’m just a glutton in denial. Haha.

The fiancé and I might go to Divisoria tonight to check the layout for our wedding invites. If that pushes through, I would take him to Binondo and treat him to a dinner of Chinese food. Divisoria and Binondo are within close proximity to each other so getting from the former to the latter won’t be a problem at all. Oh, how I miss our Binondo food trips!

Seeing Good Results from my IPL Underarm Treatments at Power Peel Clinic

This post is long overdue, but anyway, better late than never. I had my second and third IPL session at Power Peel Clinic on Panay Avenue on Jan. 7 and 21, respectively. The sessions were two weeks apart, as instructed by the clinic. My goal was still the same: to get rid of my underarm hair.

During my first IPL session at Power Peel Clinic, I experienced some hair fall a few days after the treatment. Some parts of my underarms became hairless already but I could still see some chicken skin which was the product of my plucking history ages ago (I guess IPL doesn’t cure that, haha). I didn’t shave until the day of my second session which was in the morning of Jan. 7. Take note that I only shaved the segments with hair; I intentionally didn’t touch the already hairless parts for fear that the hair would grow again. Makes sense, right?

On Being a Model

No, I didn’t quit my job and grabbed myself a modelling career. I just experienced some six grueling hours of acting like a model for a special photoshoot. Actually, I did it with the fiancé (now that’s a given!).

us
the Bonnie and Clyde effect

I can’t believe we sweated like pigs while trying to be obedient to our photographers. Prior to the shoot, the fiancé and I had decided to give it our best and trust in the team that we got to do the job with. It was physically-draining yet at the end of the shoot, we were simply awed by the output (thanks again, Kuya Rod Vicente!). All the hardships were well worth it.

A Moment with a Law Student

I met up with my high school classmate and friend A at McDonald’s Mendiola for some bonding time last night. If I’m not mistaken, the last time we saw each other was two years ago. She’s busy with law school and I’m preoccupied with many things (too many to mention, haha). It was a short but sweet meeting, we talked and laughed a lot. We also learned a lot of updates on each other.

A is now on her third year in law school and during most of our talk, she bombarded me with horror stories about a law student’s life. It’s ironic because she was also quite persistent in convincing me to walk the same path. That’s mainly because both of us, including our other friend L, wrote “lawyer” as our ambition in our high school yearbook. Funny, noh? Haha.

Angels on Earth

Do you believe in angels? If yes, do you know that there are angels on earth living among us? By angels, I don’t mean the metaphysical ones. They’re human beings, like you and me, who have the unique gift of touching and impacting other people’s lives effortlessly.

There’s this new friend of mine that I consider as one of my angels on earth. She’s double my age but she knows how to connect with me, how to reach my innermost thoughts without even trying. She’s like a mother, a friend, a stranger who could draw and sustain my attention simply by opening her mouth and giving words of wisdom to me.
