Weekend Story: Simple Things + Quick Visit to Our Naic Home

Last weekend was a-okay. I spent my time with the hubby and my family next door. I cooked some delicious meals, cut my nails, took long showers, finished a long overdue task (a.k.a. mending up a ripped throw pillow cover), went to the wet market with Mame, folded and ironed some clothes (the hubby took care of the laundry, as usual), watched a bit of Netflix, and enjoyed siesta time for two straight days. It was quite refreshing, actually, having done all those things. So simple, yet so productive and good for the soul.

On Sunday, the hubby and I, along with my brother Dan drove to our Naic home to pick up some stuff there. This is in preparation for the time when we have it rented out, which hopefully, happens sooner than later because we need money for the monthly amortization of my family’s new Bacoor home.

Weekend Story: My Parents’ 35th Wedding Anniversary Celebration + Bonding Time with My Godchildren

Last weekend was quite busy. The hubby and I drove to Manila on Saturday to finish some errands and that night, we hosted a dinner at home to celebrate the 35th wedding anniversary of my parents. To make it more fun, I asked my two godchildren and the usual suspects (a.k.a. their families) to come because they weren’t able to visit me on Christmas Day. We also invited some neighbors and of course, our new neighbors, haha. Because of the tight sched, I wasn’t able to prepare anything edible and so I just had food delivered to our house. We also dropped by S&R Baclaran to pick up some cake and ice cream for desserts. It turned out to be a beautiful night filled with chatter and laughter.

Weekend Story: More Family Time in Bacoor

So I guess now that we’re neighbors in Bacoor, I’ll get to spend more quality time with my family than ever. It’s a great feeling knowing that they’re literally closer to us. I can easily check on my parents and siblings and enjoy all the perks (and maybe even some challenges, too!) that come with living close to our loved ones.

One thing I love about this new set up is the sharing of food or meals. Because I now watch what I eat to maintain my “small” frame (naks, Edel!), even if I cook up a big batch of food, they’d get finished in no time and won’t have to stay long in the ref. The hubby is the happiest here because he no longer has to eat the same viand for three consecutive mealtimes, hahaha.

Weekend Story: Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019 Celebrations

The past holidays were quite special and memorable for us because of a number of reasons. To start off, for the first time in our married life, the hubby and I spent Christmas with my in-laws. Our arrangement (since 2012 when we got married) is that we do Christmas with my family in our Naic home and New Year with our two families in our Bacoor home. The Christmas set up changed this year because our Bacoor house is now the only place my in-laws can call home in Luzon. My family, on the other hand, is about to transfer in Bacoor, too, and so they opted to spend Christmas at my siblings’ place in Manila for old times’ sake.

Weekend Story: TAP Cavite Chapter Christmas Party + Quick Trip to our Naic Home

Last weekend was quite busy. The hubby and I were helping our new neighbors to move stuff. On Saturday, the hubby and I, along with my father, drove to our Naic home to pick up some furnishings to be brought to Bacoor. We also did some cleaning at the new house in preparation for the big move. We were quite exhausted but you know, family comes first. I think we only got to unwind when we attended the Christmas party of the hubby’s car club (Cavite Chapter only, this time) held at Musikapihan in Imus. I liked the place, the food, and of course, the company. I met this happy couple (the guy is a new member of the car club) and we chatted a bit about life in general. They were nice and I would love to see them again in the car club’s next events.

Weekend Story: House Repair + Bonding with Relatives

Our weekend was quite fun. On Saturday, we had some repairs done at our new neighbor’s house which required a trip to Wilcon Depot. On Sunday, we had lunch at a cousin’s place in Mandaluyong and got to bond with our relatives from Iloilo. We even got to enjoy free body massage courtesy of an aunt who is a great masseuse. Now my body aches a lot but in a good way naman, hahaha. That night, the hubby and I, along with my SIL Albie, checked out this newest food park to open in Bacoor for dinner. Our experience was quite forgetabble, though. The place was nice and it was not yet crowded but somehow I felt that it lacked a festive vibe. That, or I just chose the wrong food which put me in a not so good mood during my stay there.
