Weekend Story: 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary of Our Bosses + Sunday Pasyal

Last weekend was a time to dress up and look good. Why? Because it was both an honor and a privilege for my in-laws, the hubby, and me to be invited to the 50th golden wedding anniversary celebration of our beloved Legarda bosses. The thanksgiving mass, followed by cocktails and dinner, was held at the Manila Polo Club. The event was intimate and fun at the same time.

On Sunday, the hubby and I, along with my in-laws and my parents, made an impromptu trip to this condo project in Las Piñas where the showroom of the condo project we’re eyeing is located. We just wanted to show the model units to the elders so we could find out if they approve of it or not. Well, judging by the way they looked at the place, it seemed to us that they liked it. Haha.

Weekend Story: 22nd International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta + Clark Museum + Food Trips

Last weekend was spent in Clark. It was my first time to explore this side of Pampanga. The hubby wanted to check out the 22nd International Hot Air Balloon Fest at Omni Aviation and since I haven’t been to such an event, I gave it a go. (Actually, I just wanted to be a supportive wife, hahaha.) Aside from joining a huge crowd eager to see hot air balloons in action, we also indulged in an overnight stay at one of the local hotels in Clark to better appreciate the place. This meant checking out Clark Museum, going to SM Clark to eat at the food court there and buy more food at the hypermarket, trying out this family resto called House of Chops for dinner, hearing the morning mass at St. Joseph the Worker Chapel, buying some stuff at Puregold Duty Free, and just lazing around our hotel room.

Weekend Story: Birthday + Family Reunion + Quezon Memorial Circle + Meet-Up with Friends

Last weekend was super fun. The hubby and I, along with my SIL Albie stayed overnight in Bacoor on Friday. By Saturday afternoon, we were already back in Manila. The hubby and I joined my side of the family in driving up to Antipolo to attend the 70th birthday celebration of my aunt which doubled as a family reunion for the Mabalays. The venue was the sprawling garden of her son’s new family home. Each of the nine sibling’s family was there so it was epic. Have I mentioned before my father had eight siblings? Actually, there were supposedly 10 of them but one died when he was a still a baby and currently, there are only five of them still alive and kicking.

Personally, I am grateful to the Villanueva family (the birthday celebrant’s family) for hosting the party and hopefully, there’ll be more occasions like that to happen in the future. Nothing beats being with people who are close to your heart. Even if we don’t see each other often because of distance, we get updated on social media naman and make sure to be there for each other whenever necessary. Last Saturday night was a testament that our family ties are still as strong as ever.

Weekend Story: S&R, Tagaytay, and My Farm House Dream

Last weekend, the hubby and I were joined by Mame and our balikbayan relative Ate Laura in Bacoor. We drove to our house on Saturday morning with a stop over at S&R Baclaran for a quick lunch and eventually, some grocery shopping. On Sunday, we woke up early to hear the morning mass and make a surprise visit to my uncle in Dasmariñas. Then we went up to Tagaytay and Alfonso. In Tagaytay, we took Ate Laura to Mushroomburger for snacks because she’s a health buff, haha. (Next time, we’ll take her to Sonya’s Garden!) In Alfonso, we checked out The Gingerbread House and visited this foreclosed property that I have recently spotted on the website of a local bank. Naisip ko lang kasi baka kayanin ko nang tuparin ang farm house dream ko, chos!

2018 Personal Theme: Mindfulness

My personal theme this year of the dog is mindfulness. Initially, I wanted it to be “loyalty” because dogs, hahaha. But then I felt that mindfulness was more apt because in this age of too much distractions, being mindful was becoming a challenge for many people. I settled for mindfulness because this year, I wanted to live more and achieve more. My goals are composed of the usual stuff (e.g. health, wealth, relationships, work, personal growth, etc.) but this time, I really wanna focus more on being mindful and living in the moment while working on reaching my goals.

Weekend Story: Nueva Ecija and Bulacan Trips + My New Kate Spade Bag

Last weekend was spent on a road trip. The hubby and I were with my parents. First, we traveled to San Jose City in Nueva Ecija on Saturday to visit Ate Laura, our balikbayan relative (my father’s first cousin and my mother’s BFF, to be exact). We stayed there overnight to join their fiesta celebration the next day. From San Jose, we went straight to Meycauayan, Bulacan to attend the christening of my newest godchild, baby Marcus Jacob. Humabol na lang kami sa reception kasi 1PM na kami nakaalis ng San Jose kasama si Ate Laura na makikituloy muna sa apartment ng mga kapatid ko para makapasyal naman dito sa Maynila.
