KFC Christmas Bucket Meal for 2013

Last Friday night, we had KFC food delivered at home. It was their Christmas bucket meal priced at P650. It’s the same as their regular bucket meal except that it has one additional item — a small chocolate cake for dessert. What’s nice about this is that for every Christmas bucket meal sold, KFC gives P5.00 to the World Food Programme which would then be used in helping typhoon Yolanda victims. How laudable.

It’s one of those fast food purchases that you won’t feel guilty about because you get to help people in need in your own little way. Yes, I felt happy about it even if it was my MIL who paid for it. She just got her SSS pension and suddenly thought of treating everybody in the house for dinner. Sweet.

Weight Loss Update: 4 Lbs. To Go!

From 130 lbs. which is my wedding day and pre-pregnancy weight, to 167 lbs. (my biggest during pregnancy) and 147 lbs. (post-pregnancy weight), I’m now down to 122 lbs. I can’t wait to fit in my small clothes again. Soon I’ll reach my target weight of 118 lbs. and perhaps if I’ll try harder, my ideal weight of 115 (which I think suits my 5’4″ built well). It seems my “very-little-rice diet” is working for me. Haha.

There’s also something I discovered last weekend. Eating less + more movement = more burned calories. I know it’s a given. I even read about it from a fitness book before. It’s something you and I already know. But let me tell you that it becomes more real when you actually see the results.

Food Trip at El Sur, Alabang Town Center

Organized by the Mercato Centrale Group, El Sur in Alabang Town Center is another foodie destination worth checking out. Or is it? I grabbed some dinner there last Saturday with the hubby and my SIL who joined us for the weekend. This was after we attended the anticipated mass at the nearby St. Jerome Church.

From what I read in the poster, El Sur opens every Friday and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight. It’s right beside Fully Booked. During our visit, there were only a couple of food stalls there serving customers. I saw stalls that sell burgers, rice meals and some snacks. I found the space small and the variety of food offerings was far from what I expected. I initially thought they occupy a big space and offer the same food offerings (both in size and scope) as the Midnight Mercato in BGC.

Credit Rebate from Citibank

I was surprised to see my Citibank billing statement this morning. It says there I was given a P200 credit rebate because of the purchases I made from September 19 to October 15, 2013. Wow, thanks! P200 is still P200. This definitely made me smile.

Citibank (Cebu Pacific Citi Card, to be exact) is currently my only credit card at present. Because the hubby and I wanted to cut our credit card spending and reduce our debts in general, we ditched our other cards and retained just one each. It’s proven to be a good decision because now, we are more conscious about how we use our credit cards. Every peso borrowed using them are well-calculated. Haha.

Shopping and More Shopping

I know I only have a certain budget allotted for shopping but I don’t know, I can’t seem to stop buying stuff. It all started with my little shopping trips during weekends last month, followed by a big shopping spree at Landmark with my girls one Saturday and a couple of impulsive shopping every now and then. I need to stop already because I’m running out of cash.

Discipline, that’s what I badly need right now. But I’d like to think my shopping is still under control. That’s because I keep track of my spending. I have an idea of how much I spent and can spend. Plus, many of the stuff I bought are Christmas presents. I am going to make people happy with them, so I guess I shouldn’t feel guilty at all. Haha.

Landmark Shopping with my Girls

I dream of the time when I could be seen shopping with my daughters. Not one, but two. But since I don’t have any daughters yet, shopping with the girls in my life will do for now. These girls are my mom and my two sisters. They went with me last Saturday to Landmark Makati to shop, shop, and shop.

I just love shopping with my girls. With them, I can peruse through racks and racks of clothes without worry. With them, I can try on clothes for as long as I want. With them, I can shop, then stop and eat and go back to shopping again. These things I cannot do freely with my girl friends because we always have limited time when we’re out shopping together.
