On Sibling Fights

As the eldest child in our family, I serve as a role model to my three younger siblings (two girls and one boy). As much as I want to stay calm at all times when dealing with any of them, there are instances when I lose my temper, get mad and become upset. I’m just a human being, after all.

The thing that upsets me the most is when my siblings fight over petty things and end up wanting to hurt each other physically. The eldest that I am, I feel it is my duty to show them what diplomacy means and how it works. It takes a lot of my energy and can be exhausting at times, but it’s the only way to solve any fight, may it be between siblings or not.

It’s All About Contentment

So far, so good. If you’d ask me how’s my life been going these days, that will be my exact answer. I am just happy that blessings continue to come way and that less problems are popping up in my life.

I have a job that pays well. It may not be so secure, but at least it never fails to teach me to be appreciative of each day in the workplace. There may be other similar jobs out there that pay more, but the satisfaction I get from my job wouldn’t compare with any of them. I just want a fulfilling but stress-free job and the job I have right now definitely fits the bill.

Joint Birthday Celebration, Individual Birthday Gifts

The fiancee and I were done with our birthday trip. We’re glad it turned out to be so much fun. What made it extra special was the fact that it was our first international travel. Now what comes next, at least for me, is the joint birthday celebration of yours truly, my younger sister N and our dad. He’s celebrating his birthday on the 30th and we plan to just eat out somewhere in Makati along with the fiancee’s family on the same day.

I also want to buy presents for my sister and my dad, but I’m still undecided what to give them. My sister N wants a new phone but I can’t afford that at present. Besides, I’m still gonna pay for her capital share for the try-out business she’s starting with her classmates (school requirement). If she were about to get married, a set of wedding night lingerie would be perfect. But she’s still single and currently has no BF yet so that’s out of the question. Perhaps, some fashionable clothes will do?

Laptop Repair

When we attended the burial ceremonies for my deceased aunt in the province, I had the chance to update myself on the lives of my other cousins and I’m sure they had the same experience as mine. Until now, I am amazed by the transformations we’ve been through. I’m talking about the physical and economical changes in our lives.

One of my cousins, for instance, will soon continue her studies as a college freshman. We just got a text from her yesterday that she passed the entrance exams at STI. What good news! Now, all she needs are school supplies and one of those laptops for students (for better study habits!) and she’ll be good to go. Did I mention she’s gonna be a Jollibee scholar? Yes, that’s right. She’s been working for Jollibee as a service crew and they eventually learned that she wanted to finish her studies. Now they wanna help them in their own little way. Cool.

Back in the City

We just got back from the province after attending the burial ceremonies for my deceased aunt. We had a cheerful and safe trip. Our travel time was cut short because my uncle who served as our driver was quite familiar with the roads in Nueva Ecija. It was raining most of the time during our travel and throughout our overnight stay in Muñoz City but it didn’t bother us at all because we brought umbrellas with us.

As expected, it became a mini-reunion for all of us. I was happy to see my seven girl cousins again. I was surprised to find out they’re all married already. And with kids to boot. When it was their turn to ask updates about me, the predominant question was, “when are you getting married?” To which my constant reply was, “next year.” We also took the time and effort to take plenty of pictures using our respective canon slr cameras. I’m happy to have learned thru our group photos that I’m no longer the fattest among us. It only means two things: either I really lost weight or it’s just that their waist continue to expand because they have adjusted very well to married life. Haha.

A Weekend Trip

This weekend, my family and I will venture in an out-of-town trip to Nueva Ecija to attend the burial ceremonies for my deceased aunt. Sad as we should be, we are also excited to see my cousins. If I’m not mistaken, the last time I saw them complete (all eight of them!) was during my grandparents’s funeral. Again, it’s gonna be a mini-reunion for us just like what happened during the funeral of my other aunt two weeks ago.

And since we’re going to the province, I planned to buy some kalamay (a native delicacy made from glutinous rice and coconut milk) and pastillas from our fave stop-over pasalubong store in Bulacan. I miss these kinds of food and I can no longer wait for All Saints Day (when we normally get them as we visit our grandparents’s graves in the province) to come just to taste them again. If I’d gain weight from eating them (which is as sure as the setting of the sun), I guess exploring some quick weight loss austin ideas would help me get back on track immediately.
