Decorating for Christmas 2012

Ours may be the only house in the Philippines with not a single sign of the coming Christmas season yet. Our Christmas decors are still wrapped up upstairs and waiting to be reassembled. I dunno, I must just be plain busy or crazy lazy for not acting on them at this point.

Christmas has always been a happy occasion for me. But this Christmas will be a bit different. I will be celebrating it with the hubby for the first time with us as a married couple. I will surely miss having the traditional Noche Buena with my family. We can’t just make plans because it’s a must that we celebrate both Christmas and New Year in our marital house. It’s our first year in this home, after all.

New S&R Members

An S&R membership here in Manila is valued at P700 for a year. Renewal is priced the same. The hubby and I have finally signed up. What we have are a primary ID and a supplementary one which we just got for P100 instead of P400 upon showing my BDO credit card. Yes, they had a promo that time.

our membership IDs

Excited to use our S&R IDs, we immediately entered the warehouse and bought some stuff that we could afford. Looking at the patrons inside, one could easily tell which class they belong to. I saw a lot of rich people carrying big carts filled to the brim and for a few minutes, I tried acting like one of them but failed. Haha. Just kidding. Seriously, rich or poor, so long as you have P700 to spare for a membership ID, you can enter S&R. And if you just wanna try their American-sized snacks, just avail of the free day pass.

Saving Dilemma

I seriously need some saving tips. This year has been one of the most expensive years of my life, money-wise. I’ve spent more than what I planned on spending and I haven’t been able to save up the right amount of money I wanted to keep for the rainy days.

But all of this isn’t entirely my fault. Circumstances tested my finances and suddenly, everything went beyond my control. If there’s one thing I’d like to do for next year, that is to save, save and save. And I’m influencing the hubby to do the same for our joint finances.

Snacks at S&R

Is membership shopping your thing? Here in Manila, we have S&R (an all-American style warehouse club) and a few more to give you this privilege. The hubby and I tried the snacks at S&R one random weekday and we couldn’t be more satisfied, taste- and price-wise. We’re still pondering over getting a membership, though. P700 is cheap but for just a year, I think I will have to weigh the pro’s and con’s first. And check out what great stuff they have in store for lower middle class people like us.

For now, here’s a photo of what we got courtesy of the day pass S&R offers to non-members free of charge:

A Source of Inspiration, Why Not?

Instead of succumbing to depression and grieving, the hubby and I have chosen to move on with our lives after the tragic loss of our first baby. I know it seems like it’s too early to say this, or that it’s not too easy to believe, but we have made a choice and are sticking to it.

Our angel in heaven is gonna be our source of inspiration so we could be stronger and better versions of ourselves. As early as now, I have already set our first goal. That is, to manage our weight. Funny, but true.

Happy 33rd Birthday!

I’ve known this person since 2003. We were friends first before we became lovers just a year after. We were steady for seven happy years and got married on our 8th. Today, he turns 33 years old, only four years my senior.

It’s the birthday of my loving husband, and as far as birthdays are concerned, we have all the reasons to celebrate. But after having gotten through the loss of our first baby exactly a week ago, we couldn’t see the need to do so right away. Celebrations can wait.
