Cooking for my Husband

While I can cook, I know my cooking skills are very limited. I could actually count with my two fingers the number of gourmet dishes I can whip up. (I’m more into home-cooked meals, you know.) And if I were to judge my own cooking, they only fall into two categories: hit and miss.

But that’s not really the point of this post.

All I want to say is that ever since I got married, I’ve been enjoying cooking for my husband. Not only do I get to have more kitchen experiments, I also get to find out his favorite dishes without even asking him. Now, if a husband’s appreciation for his wife’s cooking is to be measured by how much he eats, then I can proudly say that the hubby loves my cooking very much!

Wet Weekend

Last weekend was a wet weekend. The whole Saturday, we experienced heavy rains in Bacoor which prevented us from going out. The hubby initially planned for us to hit the mall and watch the new Batman movie but decided against it when he looked outside and saw the angry skies above. Haha.

On Sunday, the weather was manageable with just light rains in the morning and drizzles in the afternoon. We were able to hear the morning mass and buy food from the local market for our lunch. I cooked some ham and corn soup and granted the hubby’s viand request of menudo. We had a fantastic meal. We spent the rest of the day sleeping and just watching TV.

Sunday Love

I love Sunday. It’s my second favorite day of the week, with Friday being my top favorite. Though Sundays signify the end of the week and serve as a reminder that a new work week is looming ahead, I still try to make the most of them.

During Sundays, the hubby and I hear mass first thing in the morning. From the church, we make a stop over at the community market to buy meat and other fresh produce for our lunch. Then we go straight home to spend the rest of the day there. Sometimes we hit the mall, but oftentimes we just stay home and do lots of fun and crazy stuff that make our Sunday happy and complete.

4th Month

Marriage is a lifelong commitment that two persons deeply in love with each other make. True. It is, however, not just filled with love but with all other things that make the commitment more bearable and long lasting.

happy at four months!

The hubby and I are now on our fourth month as a married couple. What a short, short time, I must say. We have not proven anything solid yet, except for our willingness to stick with each other no matter what challenge or adversity this marriage brings us.

Sunday Date

Yesterday, I granted the hubby’s wish to watch yet another Spiderman movie. Well, I heard it’s a new franchise of the popular comic book superhero with new lead stars (Andrew Garfield as Spiderman and Emma Stone as his love interest) and cast. It sounded nice to me and since we were quite bored at home on a Sunday afternoon, I decided to go out and hit the nearby SM Bacoor. The hubby was obviously pleased.

The Amazing Spiderman movie didn’t disappoint. According to the hubby, it stayed true to its Marvel comic story. Spiderman’s movements were fast yet fluid and the action scenes were shot nicely. I think it helped that the movie was shown on a hi-def screen because we were able to appreciate the flow of the story more. In the end, the hubby enjoyed the film and so did his wife.

Investing on Real Estate

Last weekend was quite bitin but still fun. We went home Friday night and left for Manila Sunday evening instead of the usual Monday morning. We just slept and ate and cuddled and the cycle just repeated itself. On Sunday afternoon, we attended the house blessing of our friend at a high-rise condominium in Makati.

These days, investing in real estate is popular whether it’s a town house, a single-detached house and lot or a condominium unit. That friend of ours, who works as an engineer in Japan, plans to have his two-unit condo rented to augment his monthly mortgage payment. Good idea, isn’t it?
