New Sunday Routine

Our weekends in the past weeks were spent in our Bacoor home. It’s just the two of us, my hubby and I. We normally just relax on Saturdays and on Sundays, we go to church first thing in the morning. It’s a good thing that there’s a church near our place.

Holy Trinity Parish Church in San Nicolas, Bacoor, is pretty new. It’s not even fully-painted and furnished yet. But I like how it’s big and airy. The parish community is quite big, too, and is growing continuously. Outside the church is a wide complex dotted with shops, food stalls and public parking spaces. You’ll be amazed at how comprehensive the shops there are. I saw vegetable, fruit and meat shops as well as general merchandise stores. I even spotted a dog shop selling cute puppies, dog food and supplies including wooden dog houses similar to those wooden dog crates at DogKennels.com. Imagine that!

Kitchen Improvement Then, Front Extension Now

Today is gonna be another busy day at home. Our Naic home, to be exact. We’ve recently started constructing our front extension, with roof, paved floor, metal grills and all that. It’s costly as I expected, but hey, nothing’s cheap these days! As long as the work is good, I’m okay with paying higher than usual on labor fees.

I can still remember the time (I think it was early last year) when we had some kitchen improvement done. We had kitchen cabinets installed and painted in the color that inspired me back then (read: greek blue) and now our kitchen looks neater and better than ever.

Drizzles

I love drizzle. I really do. But I hate it when drizzle falls on summer. Blame it on climate change (which would eventually put the blame on us because we’re accountable to nature!). It’s wet outside today because of the continuous drizzle. I feel sleepy.

Aside from feeling sleepy, I also feel the urge to eat whenever it’s raining outside. It’s a natural reaction, isn’t it? There’s something about the rainy weather that induces people to slow down and rest. And yes, eat! What’s for merienda, I ask. Haha.

First Summer Outing

If plans will push thru, I’ll have my first summer outing in April. And it’s gonna be a team building activity of our office. My officemate and I took care of making the reservation in the resort. Right now, I’m waiting for the quotation to reach my inbox.

After reading some reviews online, we settled for this beach resort in San Juan, Batangas. Aside from the nice view and the good accommodation, what I liked about this beach resort was the price. You know, everything has to fit in our budget. I would have liked the place better if they had a swimming pool (I’m okay if it doesn’t have new pump and filter hayward parts so long as it’s clean), but it seems they didn’t have any. Or I just didn’t see one on their website. Whatever.

Lenten Season

The Lenten Season is fast-approaching. And I so look forward to the long holidays it brings. I’m not a very religious person but I always see Lent as a time to slow down, meditate and connect with God. I also think that this is the perfect opportunity to reflect on my life and how I could make it more meaningful not only for myself but for the people around me.

This Holy Week, I plan to relax and do uncomplicated things. I want to get as much rest as I could get. I want to spend as much time as I could with my family. I also want the same for my husband. That’s why we have decided to spend time equally between his family and mine. Fair deal, ayt?

Time to Hit the Beach!

Summer’s here! Time to hit the beach! Time to slim down for me to fit in my bikini. Ouch. I think I’ll have to work on that as hard as I could. It’s not gonna be easy, what with the pounds I gained before, during and after the wedding. Spell di-le-mma.

If I am only attending a prom, all I need to do is get myself a plus size prom dress and I’ll be good to go. But this is beach escapade we’re talking about. Somehow, there’s a pressure on the girls (not so much on the boys!) to show off some nice figure and don some good beach wear. Haha.
