A Birthday Lunch

Right after hearing mass, we had a birthday lunch in Malabon. Traffic was light so we didn’t have a hard time getting here. Its actually the boyfriend’s uncle’s birthday today and we’re here to join in the fun. The celebration is still ongoing. I had a hearty lunch and I particularly enjoyed the pork caldereta and the gambas. Yummy. I feel very at home; it must be because I’ve been here for a few times already. There’s internet connection so the blogger in me took advantage.

I like it here. The boyfriend’s uncle’s family is big. There are two babies that keep the house alive. They are both healthy and bubbly. They would smile and giggle for no reason. They’re a sight to behold. The boyfriend’s mom is having a great time playing with them. I played with them earlier and it was fun. I even urged the boyfriend to give them strollers come Christmas time, like those uppababy vista strollers I saw in a baby shopping site the other day while picking a gift for J, my best friend’s baby and my god child.

Online Shopping Vs. Traditional Shopping

Online shopping is the trend today. Perhaps, it’s because almost everyone has internet access that makes it easier for businesses to sell their products and services to a wider market. It also helps that online shopping sites are easier to deal with than traditional stores. Here, shopping for stuff is as fast as the bat of an eyelash, so long as you have the money to buy them.

Online shopping sites abound on the internet. They provide everything a normal person could ever need, from clothing and gadgets to home wares and even Exclusive products. I know several online shopping sites that make millions, if not billions of dollars, in sales. I think the most popular among them is Amazon. As they say, name it and Amazon has it.

My Beetle Earrings

I love wearing earrings. It makes me feel girly and feminine. I wear all kinds of earrings except for the clip-on ones. Whenever I buy a new pair of earrings, I always take comfort and wearability in consideration. In our office, for instance, women are not allowed to wear dangling earrings. I own a few pairs of dangling earrings but to avoid getting subjected to disciplinary action, I only wear them when I attend a party or go out with friends.

My latest earring purchase is a pair of beetle earrings. I got it from a jewelry stall manned by a Chinese lady at a Baclaran mall early this year. I was able to lower the price to P100, thanks to my haggling skills. I said ‘beetle’ because that’s what the earrings look to me. They are actually faux pearls covered with silver-plated metal in the upper front shaped into what looks like insect heads with wings. The faux pearls serve as the body to complete the insect look. And those insects sure look like beetles, aren’t they?

Magnolia Frozen Delight: Pinipig Crunch

Nothing beats summer heat than a trip to the beach but when there’s low probability to do just that (like in my case), ice cream could always do the trick. Right now, I’m craving for some Magnolia Pinipig Crunch in sweet corn flavor. I blame this to the Magnolia Summer Bloggers Party I attended last April Fools Day where I first got a taste of it along with the rest of Magnolia’s frozen delights.

This sweet corn pinipig crunch is addicting because it has the familiar taste of corn and rice crispies along with the comforting goodness of Magnolia ice cream. This is one cool and affordable treat that’s readily available to Pinoys this summer. Definitely, I’ll choose this flavor over the chocolate one anytime. That, even if I’m a self-confessed chocoholic. The sweet corn flavored pinipig crunch is that good.

UST Hospital Doctors Directory

My ob-gyne is from the UST Hospital. I go there every April for annual check up. She’s kind and friendly. I think she’s in her late 50’s already. I like that she’s soft-spoken and explains complex medical terms to me in a smart manner. I can be a makulit patient at times. I ask a lot of questions and I’m happy she always answers them with a smile. I can even engage her in a little chitchat and our conversation can go from the best feminine wash to how small business phone systems here in Manila suck.

If UST is your choice of hospital for you and your family, getting the services of a doctor there is easy as ABC because their website has this directory of UST Hospital doctors that you could browse thru anytime. Each doctor has a brief profile and contact information there, including their clinic hours. Whenever I have to go back there, I always visit on a Saturday because that’s the time I don’t have work in the office.
