A New Toy!

This may be the happiest Valentine week for me ever because finally, we’ve gotten an iPad mini! I started bugging the hubby about it when February arrived and it was only on Valentine’s Day that he agreed we buy one. I’m so happy!

Now I know why I didn’t get flowers from him last Thursday. Wait, does it really have to be like that? I should have received both! Just kidding. I’d like to think the iPad mini is the best Valentine gift we could give each other. I mean, it’s not just for me, it’s for us. We’re gonna use it both. Conjugal property. Mutual happiness? Achieved!

The District, First Ayala Mall in Cavite

Yesterday afternoon, the hubby suddenly invited me to go out. It was unusual because I was always the one dragging him to different places to unwind. Haha. Anyway, of course I said yes immediately. He was talking about an Ayala development somewhere along Aguinaldo Highway. After a 20-minute car ride, we reached The District, the first Ayala mall in Cavite.

The mall is already open to the public although most of the shops are still closed and construction is on going at one side of the complex. We saw several shops and restaurants that are already entertaining customers. They were Globe Business Center, Payless Shoe Store, People are People, Bench, Mendrez, Army Navy, Burgoo, Sumosam, Wee Nam Kee, Starbucks Coffee, Jollibee, and our favorite Manang’s Chicken. Opening soon are the popular J.Co Donuts and BonChon Chicken, among others.

Review: Real Simple Solutions Slimline Hangers

I used to lust over wooden hangers. I thought they were simple and low-maintenance yet they exude a certain sense of elegance. I wanted to buy a few dozen after seeing them at S&R last month but decided against it because I didn’t have enough cash that time. (My credit card was out of the question.) If I remembered correctly, the 5-piece set costs PHP189.75.

The hubby and I dropped by S&R Aseana-Baclaran Branch again last Saturday on our way home to Bacoor to get a quick grab and I suddenly remembered about the wooden hangers. When I saw them again, I thought it was the time to get them. But when my eyes landed on a box of slim hangers made of metal but dressed in olive-colored velvet, I knew right then and there my obsession with wooden hangers has died.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Girls

I was asked by the hubby the other day to get a gift for one of his goddaughters and I said yes instantly. It gave me reason to shop, after all. Haha. Whenever I buy gifts for girls, my top choice is always dresses. I love seeing girls wearing dresses. Beautiful dresses make girls look feminine and fragile which are what they should look like at such a young age.

I usually buy dresses for girls at the department store section of the mall. There’s a lot of brands to choose from in the place. The more choices you have, the better. But of course another factor to consider is your budget. Now if you could find a dress that’s beautiful and priced reasonably at the same time, you’re lucky.

Holiday Rush

Going to the mall a few days before Christmas is not the best idea I had today. SM Bacoor this afternoon when we went there, and up to the time we left it, was jampacked with people. I really felt the holiday rush each second I was there. Like seriously.

Good thing I was with the hubby and my brother who are very patient people. They let me do my thing (what else but shopping!) without rushing me up. While my brother and I were looking for gifts to complete our lists, the hubby hit the cinema house to watch a movie.

On Opening Christmas Gifts

Giving and exchanging gifts during the Christmas season is a tradition in the Philippines and probably in other countries in the world where Christmas is celebrated. Are you the kind of person who waits for Christmas to arrive before opening your presents or the type who opens them as soon as you have received them? I belong to the latter.

I open my Christmas gifts as soon as it has been handed over to me. I dunno know with you but I get too excited like that. I guess it’s the warm, fuzzy feeling I get upon knowing that someone has remembered me or thought about me. May the gift is as plain as a face towel or as cool as the best arch support inserts, I appreciate it and look at it as a blessing.
