My Techie Husband

I didn’t know having a techie husband could be costly. Or maybe I knew all along and I was just pretending not to know. If there’s one vice that my husband is addicted to, it would be gadgets. He has always been fascinated with anything IT-related. It must be because of his work, or he just really wants to get updated on the latest gadgets and acquire them if he has the resources to do so.

Last week, he attended a week-long IT governance seminar held at a government agency located somewhere in Quezon City. He said he learned a lot from it and now he wants to gain more knowledge by attending an ITIL governance seminar abroad. How ambitious! If the expenses will be paid wholly by his company, why not? If that’s not the case, I guess he better waits for the opportunity to come his way. Haha.

Back to School

In our family, two of my siblings are going back to school. One is a teacher, the other is a 3rd year college student. I envy them somehow, because I’ve long wanted to go back to school by getting an MA degree. So many things to do, so little time. Hay.

My dream to pursue higher studies was officially put on hold when I got pregnant. I remember my Superf and I planned to enroll this June but fate and consequences had their way. My Superf is getting married this December and is currently busy planning for her dream wedding. She’s also busy with some charity work, like she’s been canvassing for discount computers and school supplies to donate to a group of less fortunate kids. Given her business, it’s also impossible for her to enroll at this time. No worries, though. I know that sooner or later our dreams will come true.

Job Hunting in June

My sister N is currently looking for a job. She’s been given an opportunity to work for this huge local bank recently but as fate would have it, she didn’t make it. How sad. I so feel for her.

But as they say, if it’s meant for you you’re gonna have it. And if it’s not, let go of it and move on. I told her to just keep on looking and to never give up as her time will surely come.

Work Mode

I started the week with one goal in mind: to finish the work that has been sitting on my table for a month now. Deadline is still quite far (first week of May) but somehow, I wanted to finish it to free myself from thinking about it when I’m at home. Yes, I’m a worrier like that.

Well, it seems I have already made a lot of progress. Like I’m done 80%. I still have two days before the work week ends and I hope I could finish everything by then. I love it when I get to do what I have planned to do. Yey!

On Being a Model

No, I didn’t quit my job and grabbed myself a modelling career. I just experienced some six grueling hours of acting like a model for a special photoshoot. Actually, I did it with the fiancĂ© (now that’s a given!).

us
the Bonnie and Clyde effect

I can’t believe we sweated like pigs while trying to be obedient to our photographers. Prior to the shoot, the fiancĂ© and I had decided to give it our best and trust in the team that we got to do the job with. It was physically-draining yet at the end of the shoot, we were simply awed by the output (thanks again, Kuya Rod Vicente!). All the hardships were well worth it.

A Moment with a Law Student

I met up with my high school classmate and friend A at McDonald’s Mendiola for some bonding time last night. If I’m not mistaken, the last time we saw each other was two years ago. She’s busy with law school and I’m preoccupied with many things (too many to mention, haha). It was a short but sweet meeting, we talked and laughed a lot. We also learned a lot of updates on each other.

A is now on her third year in law school and during most of our talk, she bombarded me with horror stories about a law student’s life. It’s ironic because she was also quite persistent in convincing me to walk the same path. That’s mainly because both of us, including our other friend L, wrote “lawyer” as our ambition in our high school yearbook. Funny, noh? Haha.
