Socials Go to Diamond Hotel!

It’s not everyday that my officemates and I go out. That’s why each time we hit the street to unwind, we try to make the most of our escapade. Last night we were at Corniche in Diamond Hotel to avail of their dinner buffet using the GC’s we all got as belated Christmas gifts. No, we didn’t pay using hsn coupons or those vouchers from Groupon sites but that would’ve been fun, too. Haha.

Dining in a five-star hotel isn’t new to me but somehow, I doubly enjoyed it because I was with a bunch of happy people. My officemates are very easy to please and they laugh even on the most trivial stuff. Last night, we all went home with great satisfaction over good food and even better company. What a way to end a long work day!

Busy Weekend Ahead

Despite the fact that the coming weekend is gonna be super busy for me, I still feel like saying TGIF! I just love Friday, no questions asked. Traffic may be bad/worse/worst (depends on the location, actually) during this day but you know, it’s a sad reality that people in Manila have come to accept and live with through the years.

Aaargh, we have work in the office tomorrow! I wish my boss changes her mind about it. Originally, I had plans for tomorrow to go to our Cavite house but since we were asked to report for work, I had to fix my sched right there and then. Sunday is equally hectic because we have a wedding-related appointment to attend to and I have work at the restaurant come dinnertime.

New Workmates

We have three new tour guides at the restaurant and I’m glad about their arrival. Now I have “alternates” to cover for me when I suddenly get unavailable for work. I have known one of the new tourguides for years already (she’s my recruit!) and so we don’t have to go through the getting-to-know-each-other stage anymore. The other two tourguides I have only met twice and we haven’t really broken the ice yet, if you know what I mean.

Work feels more like play when you are in good terms with your workmates. I’m lucky that I tend to get along with my workmates easily, both in the office and at the restaurant. I guess it’s because I try to be a natural. What you see in me is what you get from me. I hate pretending, though sometimes, I really can’t help but apply the “plastic theory” (my Superfriend and I invented this concept!) to those rare people who feel they are superior over others.

Toxic Tuesday

This morning at home, I was feeling very lazy and had a difficult time getting out of bed. To be honest, I’m not feeling so well today. I even thought of taking a sick leave just so I could get more sleep. But my mature side won the mental battle and so I ended up in my office desk a few hours later.

It was a toxic Tuesday in the office. I did a lot of stuff and felt like a drained battery when lunchtime came. Actually, I was silently praying for time to pass more swiftly so I could take some rest before going to work in the restaurant tonight. Too desperate, I know.

Zinc Lozenges for Cold Remedy

I have a bad case of cold and my head is starting to spin again. I don’t want to take a leave from work because I feel that staying at home and doing nothing will just worsen my condition. It doesn’t help that it’s raining hard outside and network signals have suddenly disappeared. My phone’s battery is also acting up I think I’d need some portable phone batteries anytime soon. I was looking up cold remedies online a few minutes ago and came across zinc lozenges. I learned it’s a good cold remedy and it soothes sore throats as well.

If I get a headache this afternoon, I’ll take a paracetamol to combat the pain. I’ll also ask someone to get those zinc lozenges for me so I could be well fast. I really hate getting sick. Here’s some information about zinc lozenges I got from RealSimple.com:

Just Another Job Interview

Once again, I tried my luck in a job interview. It’s the same company, the one that has rejected me for a few times already. But who am I to turn down an opportunity like that? Who knows what the future may bring this time around, right? And so armed with my ever-reliable interview attire (a skirtsuit), I showed up on the scheduled date and did my best.

If there’s one thing I like about interviews, it would be the flicker of hope it evokes. Once again, I had mixed feelings over it. I felt happy, giddy, excited, nervous, anxious, and afraid all at the same time. At one point, I even wanted to buy padron cigars to calm my nerves. I said to myself that I won’t expect anything, I’ll just see what happens, when it happens.
