Decorating for Christmas 2012

Ours may be the only house in the Philippines with not a single sign of the coming Christmas season yet. Our Christmas decors are still wrapped up upstairs and waiting to be reassembled. I dunno, I must just be plain busy or crazy lazy for not acting on them at this point.

Christmas has always been a happy occasion for me. But this Christmas will be a bit different. I will be celebrating it with the hubby for the first time with us as a married couple. I will surely miss having the traditional Noche Buena with my family. We can’t just make plans because it’s a must that we celebrate both Christmas and New Year in our marital house. It’s our first year in this home, after all.

No Dieting for me this Christmas

It seems there’s no stopping me from eating well this holiday season. I can already feel it. The urge to eat and be merry is very strong. I’ve decided to not go against the flow and instead, embrace the glutton in me. Haha. Kidding aside, I’ve decided to not be conscious about eating until the holidays are over.

My pigging out started last Friday before, during and after our office Christmas party. There were just so many yummy treats in the office (mostly pastries and chocolates which were gifts to our boss that she happily shared with us!) that ignoring them would’ve been both a pity and a loss. The party itself was overflowing with food and drinks, too. And when I got home, I just had to have a midnight snack after watching the replay of my fave TV series online.

A Season to Be Merry

Christmas is indeed a season to be merry. The last time I checked, another Christmas party was being held a few steps from where I was. As much as I love partying, I guess I will have to excuse myself until tomorrow when it’s gonna be our office Christmas party. I still have tons of things to do right now. I haven’t even started shopping gifts for my loved ones yet!

Christmas season is one of my fave parts of the year. It never fails to set a festive atmosphere in this side of the world. I like that here in Manila, Christmas is celebrated longer than anywhere else and that during this time, people become extra caring, loving and generous. If only we could sustain this goodness of spirit all throughout the year then maybe, just maybe, the festive air will be felt everyday and everybody will be happy.

My Early Christmas Wishlist

Who says you can’t wish earlier than usual? Since it’s September already, I thought of putting together my Christmas wishlist. While I am used to the joy of giving Christmas presents, receiving them is a delight on its own. This isn’t final yet, but just in case my friends are somewhere out there reading this blog…here are 10 items that would surely make my Christmas this year more memorable:

1. an all-expense paid trip
2. a good book
3. GCs
4. a sturdy satchel bag
5. Panasonic Lumix GF3
6. Accessorize necklaces
7. Table Rock real estate
8. Dorothy Perkins black quilted bag
9. kitchen showcase
10. cash!!!

A Shopping Ban before Christmas

It’s the first day of September and here in Manila, the start of the -ber months only means one thing – Christmas Season! You see, we have one of the longest (if not the longest) Christmas celebrations in the world, and proud of it. As early as now, I want to save up as much money as I can to prepare for another fun and meaningful Christmas with my family and loved ones. To make sure I would be able to do this, I have decided to impose something upon myself. I’ll be on a shopping ban until November 30. Yes, that’s right.

By shopping ban, I mean keeping myself from buying any material thing for myself (gadgets, clothes, accessories, and the likes) until the date I specified. The exception here is the little shopping (for pasalubongs) I am doing in my upcoming trip abroad. My determination and discipline will now be officially put to the test. This will literally translate to keeping myself away from the cash drawer of my fave shops (I always try to pay in cash, you know). For sure, it’s gonna be a tough challenge for me. So help me God.
