Crocheting with Edel: Old Rose Chunky Crochet Sweater

I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet. I got busy with adult life and the responsibilities that came with it but the urge to crochet was always there. One weekend, I finally had the time to buy crochet supplies and ask Mame to teach me how to do the basic stitches. She would work on a particular stitch and then I would imitate it until I get the hang of it. I also watched crochet tutorial videos on You Tube and that was when I found out the name of each stitch and technique that Mame taught me.

They say crocheting is not for everyone and I have to agree with that. It requires money, time, good eye sight, focus, discipline, and looooooots of patience. I may not have a sufficient supply of the other requirements, but I can say I have enough patience. I can be very patient when working with my hands to create something beautiful and functional. Crocheting allows me to do just that and more!

Last weekend was filled with activities. It’s really that time of the year again. We were with family and friends bonding over food and conversations. We all had a good time. Weekend Story: More Crocheting + Christmas Shopping with Family

Last weekend flew by so quickly. Before I knew it, it was already time to go back to work. But it’s okay because I can’t imagine doing nothing all week. I need to be productive so I’d have a reason to relax and do fun things after. Haha.

I spent most of Saturday crocheting. I’ve finally finished my first project. It was supposed to be for me but my measurements were wrong. Very wrong! Ang liit ng nagawa ko, pang-baby na halos! Lakas nga ng tawa ni Mame, inaasar ako, hahaha. I’m going to give it to one of my godchildren who’s still a baby. I’m 100% sure it will fit her.

Weekend Story: Crocheting + Visit to the National Museum of the Philippines

Last weekend was relaxing and fun. The hubby and I missed going home in Bacoor due to some errands we had to do. He, for instance, had to attend his lone Saturday class in grad school. He was supposed to finish his master’s program last October but he encountered some problem with his thesis (a prototype). Now he still has to fix that and prepare for his thesis defense and hopefully, he’ll be able to graduate in March 2017. But I digress.

So yeah, we spent the entire weekend here in Manila. On Saturday, I went to Quiapo with Mame to buy some crochet supplies. I’ve finally had the time to learn crocheting with Mame as teacher. Boy, was she great! And I have to think I was a fast learner, too! Buhatan na ito ng sariling bangko, hahaha.
