Home Thoughts

Right now, I’m thinking about our humble home in Cavite. It’s been almost two years since we settled there. It’s been my parent’s permanent abode and me and my sibling’s haven during the weekends. Gradually, we were able to improve our house and now it looks better than ever. Thank God for the financial blessings that allowed us to finance some very crucial home improvement projects!

I can still remember the time we install tile flooring in our house. A good friend from the US helped me with this and I won’t forget his kindness and generosity for that. As time went by, we were able to acquire new appliances that made our life easier and more comfortable. Then, one by one, we were able to secure our extension lot which now serves as our kitchen and lavatory, get grills and screens for our doors and windows and buy more household items that added color and depth to our home.

Back in Manila

We were officially back home yesterday afternoon from a 4D 3N travel to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Words are not enough to explain how happy we are with our first international travel experience. I wish I had the energy to blog all about it but at present, I don’t have the drive and the will to do so. Maybe this week I’ll be able to publish some posts.

As for the photos, I’ve already uploaded our entire collection in FB. Right now, I just want to share my happiness with everyone for having conquered my imaginary fear of international travel. I am happy to report that I have made it to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and back to Manila (my beloved city!) alive and aiming for more travel adventures. I’m so proud of myself. Haha.

Just Another Long Weekend

Another long weekend is approaching and I’m one of those who are giddy with excitement about it. I need a break, and this is the kind of break I need. I have a few previous commitments but other than that, I’m good. If I get lucky, I might be able to spend the rest of the long weekend with my family in our Cavite abode and we might just push thru our swimming plans.

Speaking of our home, I just learned from mom that our electricity is back. Last week, an electric wire (the one connected to the electric meter) suddenly exploded. We were all here in Manila and it was our neighbor who reported it to us. She said it could be because of the heavy rains or something to that effect. It was a good thing we left the house with the main electric switch turned off so it was not affected by the power explosion. The repair alone cost me over a thousand pesos. When I paid for the electrician’s labor services, I knew I could no longer lend my brother money to buy one of those sleek samsung digital cameras he was eyeing online. So sorry, bro. You will have to wait next month for that.
