Weekend Story: Regina RICA in Tanay, Rizal + Dinner Reception at the Legarda’s

Last weekend was spent with family here in Manila. The hubby and I opted not to drive home in Bacoor primarily because we got invited to the “last hurrah” party on Sunday at the Legarda Mansion where my PILs work. The property, formerly known as La Cocina de Tita Moning (where I used to work as a part-time tour guide) has been sold and the family decided to throw a sort of farewell bash. It was attended by their close friends and it was definitely an honor and a privilege for us to have been asked to be there, too. It was a magical and touching night. While there were some tears shed, the party was mostly fun and memorable with lots of food, booze, laughter, chatter, singing, and dancing. Awwww, I will terribly miss that place which has served as home for the hubby’s family for decades!

Our Saturday was laid back. I spent it mostly sleeping and playing with our pet Jasper (the friendly dog). The hubby, on the other hand, went out to meet with his car club friends at this car show (Manila International Auto Show 2018) at World Trade Center in Pasay. On Sunday morning, we got to go on a road trip to Regina RICA (Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia) in Tanay, Rizal. The place was peaceful and solemn albeit packed with people. We were glad to have experienced it for the first time. On our way back to my PILs’ place, we had a late lunch at Lutong Pugon nestled in the house of this local painter named Jun Tiongco which is just around two kilometers from Regina RICA.

Weekend Story: More Christmas Shopping with Family + TAP Christmas Party

On Friday night, the hubby and I drove to Bacoor with Mame and my sister Jodie. We did some Christmas shopping (our wallets are starting to cry already, haha) at Alabang Town Center. We also heard the anticipated mass at St. Jerome & Sta. Susana Parish beside it. Then we went to Festival Mall to do more Christmas shopping and have dinner. On Sunday, we traveled back to Manila and after dropping off Mame and Jodie at their place, we drove straight to Megatent in Pasig for the hubby’s car club’s Christmas Party. It was a fun weekend and once again, happy memories were created which are now stored in our hearts. Life doesn’t have to be complicated. That’s why I always remind myself to choose happiness all the time.

In other news, malapit na mag-Pasko!!!

Weekend Story: TAP Meet-up + Date with the Parentals

I dream of the time when I can date my siblings and parents once a week. Like on a regular basis. I don’t have a problem on that with my husband because we are together almost 24/7. I know that when we get old and gray, we’ll have all the time in the world to spend together.

I am happier when I get to spend time with family during weekends. Last weekend, for instance, the hubby and I got to be with our parents (all four of them) on Sunday. We had lunch with my parents and had dinner with his. Then we spent Saturday meeting up with his car club mates (from Team Accent Philippines) and staying in our Bacoor home. We even got to squeeze in a quick visit to Baclaran church to pray and light some candles before going back to Manila on Sunday night.

Weekend Story: Car Club Meet-Up, Calda Pizza, and Some Diet Change

Last weekend was quiet and relaxing. Friday night saw the hubby and me joining my officemates in traveling to Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas to visit the wake of my officemate Gerlie’s father. From Batangas, we drove to Bacoor (but only after dining at a McDonalds store for the requisite pagpag practice) with our good friend Carmela who also joined the wake visit because she and Gerlie’s sister are officemates also. She would then leave us for Manila on Saturday morning just in time for the arrival of Mame and my sister Jodie who planned to spend the rest of the weekend with us. That night, the hubby and I went out to hear the anticipated mass at Madonna del Amore Quasi Parish in Las PiƱas and attend another Team Accent Philippines (TAP) – South Chapter meet-up at Manong’s Grill in Alabang where we got to meet and mingle with more TAP members.

Weekend Story: TAP Event + Slow Sunday in Bacoor

Last weekend flew by fast. On Saturday, I accompanied the hubby in attending his car club’s 6th anniversary grand eye ball held at Googel restaurant in Mandaluyong City. There we met more than 600 members (most of them with +1’s, too) of Team Accent Philippines (TAP). The event was fun and came complete with production numbers and raffle draws. I think we reached Bacoor just before midnight. Our Sunday started late. We skipped going to church this time and just stayed home to rest until it was time to go back to Manila at night. Oh, I also did some workout in the morning pala because I felt I have gotten so big already.*sigh*

Weekend Story: A Slew of Events and Errands + A Quick Escape to Tagaytay

Last weekend was hectic. We attended several events on Saturday: Hyundai’s National Car Wash Day at Hyundai Quezon Avenue, Manila International Auto Show (MAIS) 2017 at the World Trade Center, and Team Accent Philippines’ (TAP) members meet up at Vikings Mall of Asia (MOA). We also squeezed in a visit to the Uber offices in Taft Avenue Avenue and One-Ecom MOA, to submit the hubby’s requirements. Yes, he applied to be an Uber partner and got accepted. He will do it on a part-time basis and he’s already excited about his first trip, hahaha. On Sunday, we drove to Tagaytay to unwind before heading back to Manila that same day.

Below are some photos that describe our weekend:
