And Our Baby’s Gender is…

boy! Goodness gracious, my instincts were right! We’re having a boy and we saw the “proof” during our scan last Saturday morning at UST Hospital. The hubby was ecstatic because he, too, wanted a boy for our first baby. Wish granted.

What makes me happier is that the baby’s healthy, heartbeat, measurements and all. During the scan, he was in a breech position but the OB-sonologist assured us that he’s still gonna assume his final head-down position soon. We’re seriously praying for that because we want a normal delivery.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom’s birthday. She’s now 58 years old. A bit old, yes, but it doesn’t show. She’s still full of energy and laughter. There’s no dull moment with her around. She’s a natural clown and we love her to pieces.

my mom at 58

Mom, I know you don’t read my blog but I just want to feature you here because I appreciate your presence in my life all these years. You’ve been a source of strength and inspiration to me. I can’t imagine life without you. Every day I thank God for giving you into my life.

Soon you’ll gonna be a grandmother to my first baby na. I know you’re very excited about it. I’m confident that you’ll be a good Mamu to my baby. I thank you in advance.

Keep the youthful spirit alive, mom! I’m just here when you need me. I will never let you down like how you’ve never let me down, ever. My siblings and I will take care of you and dad when you grow older, and that’s a promise. Mwah! 🙂

24 Weeks

I still get very emotional whenever I think about my pregnancy (thank God for a healthy one!), still very grateful that I did get pregnant at the right age and at the right time. To be honest, I didn’t imagine myself infanticipating. I even had this weird thought before that I was infertile and wouldn’t experience this miracle at all. But fate proved me wrong.

I know…I need a better belly picture, but this will have to do for now! 😛

Today, my pregnant belly marks its 24 weeks. Only 16 weeks to go and I’ll be a full-pledged mom, in the truest sense of the word. I want to cry (a good cry!) just thinking about it. I am really thankful to God for blessing me with my own child that I’ll be able to see and touch and love and care for soon.

The Need to Prove Yourself to People

Have you ever experienced having the need to prove yourself to people? I have, and I’ve come to realize that when you believe in yourself and your capabilities, proving yourself to people becomes an easy task.

In a world where success and money matter more than one’s endearing traits, the need to prove your worth becomes more of a daily challenge than merely an assurance that you deserve whatever achievement or recognition you have under your belt.

Slow PC

The PC I’m using at work is old. It’s been slow since I can remember. I think I’ve used up all the PC tips and tricks I learned online but still, my PC’s state remained the same. The hubby, who’s an IT expert himself, couldn’t do anything about it, either.

Last year, I informed our property custodian that I needed a new PC. Unfortunately, she said it was not included in our office budget for that year and would include it to our next year’s budget instead. That next year was this year. I’m so happy I have a new PC coming soon. No need for me to read forums on PC repair or search “how to speed up your computer” on Google. Yay!

I Need a Haircut!

When I took a bath this morning, I suddenly noticed that my hair has grown so long I was already having a hard time shampooing it. I don’t know if it’s just my condition (preggy, remember?) or I’m getting bored with my hair.

Is it safe to get a haircut when pregnant? I mean, is there some superstitious belief out there that pertains to it? Sorry, I’m just being careful here not to hurt the elderly people’s feelings.
