My lips usually get extra dry at this time of the year and so when I found out I didn’t have a lip balm in my personal care stash, I immediately bought one at Watsons SM Manila. While reading and comparing labels, I decided to experiment on this brand that sounded new to me — Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm. Priced at just P59, it’s the cheapest lip balm there (along with the one under the Watsons brand that comes in fruit flavors).
This particular lip balm is a product of India and the company behind it has been in existence since 1930. It has carrot seed oil (a natural sunscreen) and wheat germ oil that’s rich in Vitamin E. The product claims to nourish, soften, and prevents chapping of lips.
I applied it on my dry lips just last night and when I woke up today, my lips looked healed and felt softer! I touched my lips with my forefinger, too, just to confirm (still soft).
It’s just a little tube with 10g of balm. But I liked that only a small amount of it is needed to cover my entire lips. If I’d use it daily, I calculate that it will last me for a month. Not bad for its cheap price.
