Weekend Story: Nueva Ecija and Bulacan Trips + My New Kate Spade Bag

Last weekend was spent on a road trip. The hubby and I were with my parents. First, we traveled to San Jose City in Nueva Ecija on Saturday to visit Ate Laura, our balikbayan relative (my father’s first cousin and my mother’s BFF, to be exact). We stayed there overnight to join their fiesta celebration the next day. From San Jose, we went straight to Meycauayan, Bulacan to attend the christening of my newest godchild, baby Marcus Jacob. Humabol na lang kami sa reception kasi 1PM na kami nakaalis ng San Jose kasama si Ate Laura na makikituloy muna sa apartment ng mga kapatid ko para makapasyal naman dito sa Maynila.

Here are some photos from our weekend:

This bag was another reason why we went to San Jose. It’s Kate Spade New York Jackson Street Dixon, a small leather satchel in black. I had Ate Laura bought it on sale in Canada November of last year. One random day while chatting on FB messenger, I asked her out of the blue if she could buy me a bag in Canada because the branded bags here in Manila were too expensive. She said yes right away and even asked me what brand I was eyeing. I told her I liked Kate Spade and Tory Burch and she replied she would let me know if ever those brands would have a sale at the shopping center near her place. So, every time there would be a sale in those stores, she would send me photos of Kate Spade and Tory Burch bags in the color I wanted — black. One time, she sent me a photo of this bag straight from the store and when she told me the price which was luckily within my budget, I immediately asked her to buy it for me. And she was also kind enough to reduce its prices further, advance Christmas gift na lang daw nya sakin…ang saya diba, hahaha.

  1. My Aunt married someone from Nueva Ecija. Sa Sta. Rosa sila. Nung bata ako we would always go there pag bakasyon. Tapos uuwi ako ng Manila na ulikba na at puro peklat. Hahahaha! Ganda nung bag mo! Kakainggit.

  2. I was born in San Jose and moved to the states w my parents in ’72. Was really young when I left my grandfather was a principal in North High School in the 60’s to early 70’s ( I think they changed the name of the high school though).
