More Road Trips to Come

It looks like we’ll be having more road trips than actual travels this year. Two weeks ago, my Superfriend bought her first car. It’s a brand new Suzuki Celerio, a sturdy but girly car methinks. My fiance and I were with her from the moment she checked out the car and decided to buy it to the point where she took her new car home.

Last Saturday, we took SC (her car’s name) on a road trip to Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Since my Superfriend was still learning to drive, it was the fiance who drove it for her. While on the road, he couldn’t help but teach her some driving lessons. He also reminded her to always drive carefully and defensively since she would be passing through the busy expressway to and from work. Unless she wants to meet an accident and rely to some roadside assistance club for help.

Dream House

The fiancee’s house is finally finished. Inspection date will be on August 6, the turn-over on August 20. Oh how time flies! The first time we checked out that place, it was just an empty lot. Almost a year after, houses are now occupying that exact same lot. And the subdivision in itself now has a growing community.

After the turn-over comes the necessary home improvements. As early as now, we’re exploring ideas to create a modern yet cozy look for the house. While he prefers tile flooring, I’m looking into the possibility of having pergo flooring. I admire the durability of tiles (our Naic home even has a solid tile flooring!) but I also appreciate the look and feel of laminated wood.

Heavy Breakfast Ideas

As part of my serious efforts to lose weight, I have decided to eat heavy breakfast every morning. It’s been four days and I’m slowly getting used to the practice. My mom has been very cooperative in this. She happily prepares my “baon” and make sure I don’t forget taking them to the office for consumption. I so love her!

What do I usually have for breakfast? I’m not a picky eater so anything would do so long as it’s edible. I don’t even mind eating leftover food! My breakfasts in the past four days were mostly rice-viand combos. Whatever is left of last night’s dinner my mom would keep in the refrigerator for reheating the next day. That becomes my breakfast. I seldom eat dinner in the house because it’s either I eat at the fiancee’s place or eat out in the mall.

Do You Watch What You Eat?

The weighing scale doesn’t lie. I have really gained a lot of weight in the past three months. From 128, I now weigh 138. That’s ten big pounds! My clothes don’t fit me anymore and I have a hard time controlling what goes into my mouth. Do you watch what you eat? Is it really effective to do so especially if you want to lose weight?

I just made a food monitoring sheet of sorts. I want to document what I eat and hope that through this method, I could stop gaining more unwanted pounds. It’s not that I hate my body, it’s just that I don’t think overeating is healthy. Also, I want to lose weight naturally. If I don’t see any improvements in my weight, then I might just get the best fat burners to help me eliminate all my excesses.

Is Graduate School for Me?

My plan to pursue higher studies has long been sitting in the corner. I have always wanted to get a graduate degree but my duties and responsibilities to my family have been my priority in the last seven years. I felt I was more needed there.

I have this strong assumption that next year is the perfect time for me to attend graduate school. I want an MBA or an MPA, whichever is best for me. I need a graduate degree to advance my career and inspire my siblings to do the same when the right time comes. I have already made a deal (more like a pact!) with my Superfriend that we’re enrolling next year. Just in case I back out, I told her to remind me of my promise and never let me get away with it.

My New Longchamp Bag

I finally claimed my Longchamp Le Pliage bag, which I ordered from Magnums.net thru their semi-annual Longchamp sale (I got a 20% discount!), from Johnny Air-Makati yesterday. The price of the bag was $118 (approx. P5,000) and I paid P842 for shipping. The shipping fee from Magnums.net to Johnny Air’s New York office was free, thanks to the shopping site’s ongoing promo. I think I got a good deal since if I’d buy here in Manila, the price could go as high as P8,000.

This navy blue, Longchamp bag has been my dream bag for years now. I saved up for it and now I have it in possession. The limited edition Longchamp Arbre de Vie, which was my first choice at Magnums.net, turned out to be out of stock and so I settled back to my original choice. Still, I’m so happy! It was a dream come true, after all.
