Today I have received the saddest news ever. My co-worker at the restaurant died yesterday, moments after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. According to her husband who delivered the sad news from Iloilo, she had suffered severe blood loss and that was what caused her demise.
As much as I mourn for the lost of my co-worker who was also a friend to me, I can’t help but think about her baby’s future. Now the baby is partially orphaned. Yes, she still has a father to take care of her but being mother-less is a painful reality that she has to face very soon.
Before going to work, I said a short prayer for the repose of my friend’s soul. May her family, in this time of bereavement, be comforted by the thought that she’s now in a better place. May they be kind and gracious enough to give the love and protection the baby needs, the same love and protection that she can no longer get from mommy. 🙁
