Our Neighborhood

So far, we have no regrets living in a small townhouse in Bacoor, Cavite. In our four months of stay there, I’ve come to believe that living in a gated community really has its perks. For one, there are enough open spaces to walk on or take some rest at. There is also a limited number of people moving around, people who are already familiar faces to us because they are our neighbors.

I only get to appreciate our small neighborhood during weekends. On weekdays, we leave the house early for work and arrive there late when we come back from Manila. What’s nice about the location of our house is that we’re near the plaza which is complete with playground equipment and almost always filled with cheerful kids. There may be no outdoor water fountains to make the place more alive and pleasant-looking, but the laughter and chatter of the playing kids are enough to give us a sense of joy and yes, community.

New TV

Last July 17, my brother finally bought a new tv for the apartment where he lives along with my two other siblings and currently, with our visiting parents, too. It’s an LG 32″ LCD TV that came with a free DVD player at P17,000. Their old TV has been broken for several months (that’s how long they were TV-less!).

Well, I’m blogging about this because I’m just so proud of my brother for having acquired a new home appliance out of his own earnings. He’s getting more responsible each day! Actually, he also wanted to get some mounting brackets for tv but decided against it upon realizing it would just be an added cost to an already expensive purchase. Haha.

23 Weeks Pregnant Belly

This is the first time I’m posting a picture of my pregnant belly on this blog. (I’m at 23 weeks today.) As much as I want to document each week, I can’t. My mom and my MIL are both against it (sort of a superstitious belief for them). But I thought one or two pictures won’t hurt, so I took this yesterday…

It’s quite big already, yes? When I was in the first trimester, I impatiently waited for my baby bump to start showing. Now I can’t even keep up as my pregnant belly grows bigger and bigger each day. Whenever I walk on the street on my way to work, people keep asking me how old my belly is or when my due date will be. It seems they, too, are excited for the arrival of the actual baby.

Pregnancy Learning is Fun

Pregnancy has opened a lot of avenues for learning to me. And I’m surprised by how interested I have become in understanding more about my delicate condition and my baby. I can’t believe pregnancy can be this enriching and fun to learn!

If before, I surf the net mainly to blog hop, check out online news, browse through shopping sites or look for discount online jewelry, now I gravitate towards pregnancy topics like a metal object to a magnet does. Every day, new pregnancy questions come up in my mind and I make sure that I get the answers to them straight from Mr. Google.

Fear of Stretch Marks

I bet any pregnant woman has experienced this particular fear. I mean, who wouldn’t be afraid to have an itchy belly and see spider webs showing up on their tummy while growing a life inside their womb? While stretch marks cannot be prevented, they can be reduced. A lot of pregnant women swears by cocoa butter and moisturizing lotion to lessen the stretch marks on their tummy.

As for me, I don’t fear the appearance of stretch marks that much. It’s because I believe it’s a natural phenomenon. If it appears, then I let it be. I just take a bath daily, apply a gentle soap on my tummy and rinse well and wear light and comfy clothes.

4th Month

Marriage is a lifelong commitment that two persons deeply in love with each other make. True. It is, however, not just filled with love but with all other things that make the commitment more bearable and long lasting.

happy at four months!

The hubby and I are now on our fourth month as a married couple. What a short, short time, I must say. We have not proven anything solid yet, except for our willingness to stick with each other no matter what challenge or adversity this marriage brings us.
