Last weekend was quite terrible, if you’d only base it on the weather. But the weather is beyond anyone’s control, and we can only do so much to protect ourselves from its scheming ways. I’ve always told myself to not let the bad weather dampen my spirits, and I think I’ve succeeded in making the past weekend productive for me despite the not-so-cooperative weather.
But just like the weather, there are other things that are really beyond our control. Like when we were not able to attend a friend’s wedding last Saturday due to the reported flooding in some areas in Manila because of the non-stop rains. Actually, the rains continued pouring until Sunday afternoon, which was definitely not a good thing for a lot of people, especially those living in low-lying areas in the metro.
The hubby and I, because we were supposed to attend a wedding, decided not to go home in Cavite and just stay at my in-laws’ place. On Saturday, I spent my time doing some blog backlogs and paying a visit to the apartment where my siblings (and my visiting parents) reside. It became a sort of bonding time for all of us and it sure made my Saturday productive and fun.
Sunday, on the other hand, was quite tiring but still fun for me. I attended a big food event held at SM Manila (a stone’s throw away from my in-laws’ place) which lasted for more than half a day. It was nice seeing my fellow bloggers again after declining a couple of event invites in the past months because the venues were far from where I live and it was not wise and healthy for a 30+ weeks pregnant woman to engage in long travels at that point.
It’s the start of a new week today and I can’t wait to find out what it has in store for me. I have a couple of plans, several things to do and finalize, a few trips to make, and some people to get in touch with. I hope I can do everything before the weekend pokes its happy head out again. 🙂
