PhilHealth Refund, Finally!

Thank heavens, we finally received our refund from PhilHealth yesterday. It was for the hospital bill of our angel. Wow, I still can’t believe it. Imagine, we filed our claim in January 2013 which means it took one year and four months before we got our refund.

Actually, our claim was filed late and even got rejected at first. But we didn’t lose hope that easy. We sent a letter of appeal and hoped that the good officials of PhilHealth would listen to our plea. And they did! The service may be slow, perhaps due to the volume of claim requests, but what matters to me is that they do process them. The check we received yesterday was proof to that.

Unexpected Long Weekend

It was an unexpected long weekend for us last weekend. May 1st was a holiday (it being Labor Day) and our work got suspended on May 2nd because our office suddenly decided to do some pest control and fumigation stuff much to our delight. Haha.

We went home in Bacoor on Wednesday night and left for Manila on Friday morning. I took advantage of that day and applied for a driver’s license at LTO-Tayuman. (Which reminds me, I have to blog about my driving journey for posterity’s sake!) The place was already packed with people when we got there at almost 7:30 a.m. (we really planned to go early to finish early).

Shopping Fast: April Report

Note: I started my self-imposed shopping ban on January 1, 2014. I made it official online through this post, and called it a “shopping fast.” I also shared there the reasons why I took the challenge and laid down some rules to guide me while on it.

Another month has passed, and I’m still shopping-free. I’m starting to be proud of myself. Haha. But seriously, it’s not easy. I still go to the mall and get to see pretty stuff, from clothing and shoes to fancy jewelry and household items. Every time, I’d just look at them with delight and warmth in my heart and that’s it. I admit sometimes I’d get this urge to buy them and give up on this self-imposed challenge. But when I’d think about what I’ve started so far, I’d get motivated enough to move forward.
