How did you spend your APEC holidays? May it be by getting stuck in traffic, chilling out with friends, working in the office, being out on travel, or resting at home, I hope you managed to have fun and look at the bright side of things. As for me, I worked until Thursday and had a long weekend highlighted by a Marikina food trip with the hubby and his high school barkada whose company I always enjoy.
I had long wanted to go on a food trip in Marikina. Finally, it came true last Friday night. Though we only got to visit one restaurant, it was still a good experience in itself. Next time, we plan to check out the popular Lilac St. there. I can’t wait!
So, on Friday night, I joined the hubby and his friends and their kids for a dinner at Café Lidia on F. Calderon St., Marikina. This casual dining resto boasts of a wide selection of comfort food that’s sure to satisfy everyone. Yes, even those with discriminating tastes.

Everything we had, from the appetizers and pastas to the entrées and desserts, was spot on. I’d say comfort food at its best. The good food and the resto’s homey vibe made for a pleasurable dining experience for all of us. Thanks to the hubby’s friend Jeff (who grew up in Marikina and was with us that night) for the reco!
From Marikina, the hubby and I drove to Bacoor to spend the rest of the weekend there. We were joined by my brother Danison whom we picked up in Manila. While I spent Saturday entirely at home making kulit with my husband and chikahan galore with my brother, I dedicated Sunday to going out with them to hear mass at Fernbrook Gardens and visit S&R Alabang for lunch and some grocery shopping.

We then spent the afternoon taking a nap and when dusk came, my brother went out to bike around the village and take some photos. Among his shots, this was my fave:

We drove back to Manila early morning yesterday, recharged and ready to face the last week of November.
Enjoy the rest of the week, friends! 🙂
That’s a lovely sunset shot 🙂 I was so jealous last week when Manila was on a week-long holiday but I’m glad you got to spend it with your loved ones! I havent been to Marikina! Hehehe 🙂
Thanks, Jackie! Gov’t. employees were luckier than private ones because they had 4 straight days off. I wanna go back to Marikina soon for another food trip! 🙂
I love your photos talaga! I can’t believe this much contrast can be taken from a phone. Ang sharp din nya.

Talaga ba? Salamat, Ochi! Ineedit ko rin yan sa Snapseed. Minsan sa Microsoft Photo Editor. 🙂
Masarap jan sa Cafe Lidia! We’ve been there when we celebrated my twins ultrasound (dahilan lang hahaha).
True, sis. Haha, natawa ako dun, dahilan lang talaga. 🙂
Don’t forget to share your experience when you get the chance to visit Lilac St. ha 🙂
Sure, sis. 🙂
Hi Edel, Ang saya ng food trips nyo, palagi ako natatakam 🙂
Ingatz. enjoy 🙂
Thank you, Giday! Mahilig kami kumain kaya pabilog na kami ng pabilog. Haha. Take care, too. 🙂
Alam mo, I’ve been really thinking of doing a foodtrip sa Marikina. Parang ang dami daming masasarap na resto eh. Kaso ang layo! Badtrip much.
Yun lang, sis, malayo talaga. Effort much. 🙂
Wow, sarap naman.
Our first try in the foodie area of this place was in Rustic Morning. forgot the street but it was adjacent to Marikina Shoe museum.
Their waffle was a hit to my son, masarap din ang beef tapa nila. My only comment was the portion of their food. Its kinda pricey for the portion pero dahil masarap, keri na rin.Wish we could try restos in Lilac st. very soon.
I think I’ve heard about Rustic Morning before from one of the blogs I follow. Lilac St. na ang next namin! Sana matuloy. 🙂
Everything looks yummy!
True! 🙂
Uy nakarating ka na sa Marikina, finally!!!! a taste pa lang yan 🙂 Next mo na yung Rustic Mornings
Oo, gusto ko rin mapuntahan ang Rustic Mornings! 🙂
