Weekend Story: FIL’s Birthday Celebration

Last weekend was not so good for a lot of our countrymen because of the after-effects of typhoon Ulysses. My heart goes out to my fellow Filipinos who have been severely affected by this massive storm that hit the Philippines last Thursday. To those who have been spared or minimally affected, let us help in any way we can. There’s so much we can do, really. Nakakalungkot talaga. Hanggang ngayon, andami pa ring nangangailangan ng tulong lalo na sa Cagayan at Isabela. Pero sabi nga, laban lang tayo. Kapit lang. God is good all the time.

On a personal note, I had to go to work on Saturday because I needed to facilitate some event-related stuff. Actually, I was supposed to be at work during the onset of the typhoon last Thursday (because we had an event) and really tried to do so, but I wasn’t able to because the Zapote river in Bacoor was on the verge of overflowing and the roads going to Coastal Road from our place were already unpassable due to flooding. So, I got stuck at home and I was glad I did. We also celebrated my FIL’s birthday that day through a simple family dinner. (He’s now 76 years old, wow!) On Sunday, we just stayed home and took a lot of rest. And it was enough for us. We were just so grateful we were safe at home when the typhoon hit our country last Thursday.

Here are some photos to document our weekend:

Have a lovely and peaceful week, friends! 🙂

May you choose happiness always,
