My Brother is Now a Public School Teacher!

“All our dreams can come true,
if we have the courage to pursue them.”
~Walt Disney

Allow me to be a proud sister for a day. I’m just sooooo happy and swelling with pride and gratitude because my 26-year old brother has finally realized his dream of becoming a public school teacher. He is now a certified TLE-VOC teacher at a public high school here in Manila. God is truly great!

Office Team Building at Aiyanar Resort, Anilao, Batangas

For this year’s team building held last June 25 and 26, our office chose Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort. Actually, my boss knows the owner of the resort. What she did was she just made a call and voila, we were instantly booked for an overnight stay! Our reservation even came with a 15% discount, sa’n ka pa?

Aiyanar is a charming place tucked in Anilao in the sleepy town of Mabini, Batangas. Despite its classification as a first class municipality, Mabini has retained its serene and relaxing atmosphere. I was happy we pushed thru this outing despite the gloomy weather in Manila. It’s already June, after all, and the rains have started pouring.

Weekend Story: Happy at Home

After the hubby’s classes on Saturday morning, we drove to Bacoor to spend the rest of our weekend there. I would say we were happy at home doing household chores and just relaxing.

Actually, we were at home most of the time. We went out just two times: when we had our frappe fix at Starbucks Evia on Saturday night and when we heard the mass on Sunday morning and went to the wet market after to buy some fresh produce.

Weekend Story: Imus Cathedral + Father’s Day Celebration

Last weekend was another weekend to remember. It was fun and relaxing and beautiful and memorable. I couldn’t ask for more.

Last Saturday was actually the hubby’s first day back in graduate school. He was excited and optimistic like his other classmates but after realizing that his two profs this semester were very strict, his happy feelings dissipated. Haha.

Frugal Find: Rubi Shoes, 3 for P1,200

I got introduced to Rubi Shoes through Cotton On. They carry Rubi shoes in their stores and after buying two pairs (camel wedges and white sandals) in 2013 –which are both still alive today –I made it a point to check out Cotton On occasionally for new shoe designs. (My fave branches are Cotton On Rob Magnolia and Rob Manila.)

When I found out Rubi Shoes has stand-alone stores in Rob Magnolia and Alabang Town Center (ATC), I’d visit them whenever I’d make a trip to those malls.

Weekend Story: Official Trip to Iloilo + Couple Time in Alabang

I left Manila for Iloilo City Thursday of last week. It was an official trip that saw my officemates and I working as a team to ensure the success of our event there. It turned out to be a smashing success, praise the Lord. Everything went well and we were very thankful to the people from the provincial government who made our work easier.

Iloilo is a bustling province. I never imagined it to be that way. My trip there made me realize, more than anything, that strong political will is still possible. And that unity among the government, the private sector, and the people is a must for a certain place to achieve progress and sustainable growth.
